Although the restaurant is easy to find, locating the entrance was a bit tricky at first. Thankfully, the pictures on Google helped us figure it out - you have to go upstairs. Once inside, the interior is quite simple, but what truly stands out is the warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The staff here are incredibly friendly, chatty, and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Their hospitality added a personal touch that made us feel right at home.
Now, let’s talk about the food - honestly, it was fantastic! The portion sizes are generous for the price, making it great value for money. The highlight for me was the mushroom pasta - without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had. The texture of the noodles, the richness of the sauce - everything about it was just perfect and totally my style. The tomato pasta was also delicious, and the pizza was light yet flavorful, a great complement to the meal. I loved all of it.
If you’re in Saipan, I highly recommend visiting this place. Considering the taste, portion sizes, pricing, and excellent service, it’s definitely worth it. I also love that they continuously try to improve and evolve their menu - it shows their dedication to quality. I truly hope they keep getting more visitors and remain open for a long time.
And just to say it one more time - the mushroom pasta was absolutely unforgettable! ❤️❤️❤️
(As a European living in Korea, I often find that food in Korea tends to be quite sweet, even in dishes that traditionally aren’t meant to be- foreign cuisines included. That’s why visiting Saipan and this restaurant felt even more enjoyable. What I truly appreciated was that the food tasted like real, well-balanced food - not like dessert. I’m honestly tired of even pasta being sweet in Korea, so it was incredibly refreshing to enjoy natural flavors without excessive sweetness.)...
Read moreAs a home-based pizza aficionado, I’ve spun my fair share of dough and know the craft’s heart beats in the basics. The Angry Penne’s Margarita Pizza is a masterclass in this philosophy. It’s a dish that honors its Neapolitan roots with an almost monastic devotion to purity. Each element is a soloist in a harmonious quartet: the sauce, a vibrant melody of tomatoes; the cheese, a creamy counterpoint; the crust, a crisp foundation; and the basil, a fragrant flourish. Together, they create a symphony of flavors that’s both humble and heroic. When this culinary composition arrived at my table, the basil’s perfume was a prelude to the feast, enchanting my senses and setting the stage for a memorable meal.
The ambiance of the Angry Penne complements its cuisine perfectly. It’s a tableau of rustic elegance, with wood accents that whisper tales of Italian trattorias. The staff, true paragons of professionalism, navigate the dining room with a grace that matches the setting. Their impeccable service is a testament to the establishment’s reputation.
And what of that reputation? It precedes itself like a culinary comet streaking across the Pacific. Travelers, weary from their journeys, bypass the comfort of hotel check-ins for a taste of this legend. It’s a testament to the Angry Penne’s allure that guests from distant shores like Korea and Japan prioritize a seat at its tables over a bed in their rooms. Such is the magnetic pull of a place where every pizza is a passport...
Read moreMy husband and I had lunch here on a Monday. With how popular this place was, we decided to get here when they opened. While we were the first in the door, the kitchen was already working on several take out orders. Ariel was our server and he was awesome! He explained each of the dishes we showed interest in. We had a big breakfast and were not super hungry when we came, but it was our last day in Saipan and we were determined to try this spot before we left. Ariel convinced us to get a pizza and I am glad he did. My husband got the prawn linguini, I ordered the lasagna and we both shared a Di Joana pizza. You can taste the freshness of all of the ingredients. My husband and I especially loved the pizza crust. The next time we are on Saipan we will be back to try the other pizzas and the mushroom pasta that we didn't have room for this time around. Loved the homemade ricotta on the lasagna as well. This was the most recommended food spot by family & friends. It was also recommended by other...
