You can pretty much take my review from the SLC location and port it to this one (including my comments about their Caesar salad dressing being the consistency of spackle!). Been to both locations numerous times.
All in all, these are like Golden Corrals that actually take some time to do (more) things right. Good selection. Reasonably priced. Generally attentive servers. Items are refreshed often.
It was a busy Friday when we visited recently. As a result, our server was a bit slow to refill our beverages. Then again, I think I noticed less servers covering the floor than in previous visits. So, you know, staffing. That said, he was polite, funny, and quick when we flagged him down and asked for something.
I think buffets had, and still have, their value. They serve a very specific niche when it comes to food (esp. when you recognize that there are distinct tranches for buffets; this isn’t one of those casino-type buffets that are rapidly being replaced by over-priced food halls in places like Vegas).
If you come in thinking that your family is getting ripped off because of the prices, I think you might be being unreasonable. If you come in thinking you are going to get pre-pandemic pricing, I think you might be being unreasonable. And if you come in thinking you are not getting buffet food served buffet-style, you are a dolt who really needs to figure out what the heck you were doing here!
If you come in with reasonable expectations, I think C-A-R will most likely fulfill them. I have often left this place happy. I have also most often left full. When I am in the area, I will continue to frequent this C-A-R. The price/quality ratio places it firmly in the 4-star category.
Thanks for another nice visit....
Read moreIf a dinner for your grandparents is what you're after then this is the ticket, otherwise maybe take another look around. I thought this would be a nice place to go for Valentine's Day but it was sadly not what I or my girlfriend were expecting. For my date and I the price was a bit less than $26 after tax. Maybe we just didn't understand how Chuck-A-Rama is supposed to work but we didn't get waited on most of the time we were there except when a staff member gave us some straws half way through our meal and to checkup as we were leaving. The food is probably good if you're over 50 years old since that seemed to be the crowd around us (there was one other person besides us under 50). Complimenting that point was the food selection which definitely felt awkward to us, maybe since we're 20 and 18 years old but the food was mainly comprised of things you'd see in a nursing home. Now, I've been to a lot of buffets including American ones like Golden Corral, and the real disappointment was that the mac and cheese at this place tasted like nothing more than flavorless noodles and water. I was over my head at the sheer amount of salad items I was bombarded with. I felt personally attacked by the marinated cucumbers and bread pudding staring me down with their soggy, cold eyes. I turned the corner and the mirrors and dated carpet clobbered me. All jokes aside, the tuxedo cake and chicken tenders made up for it. It seemed like the daily themed foods were nicer than the regulars. Maybe it was the time of day we stopped to eat but I don't believe we'll...

Between Golden Corral and Chuck-A-Rama, coming here is more of the “bang for your buck”, kinda deal. For six people (2 seniors, 3 Adults, 1 Child) I paid roughly around $100. Drinks come included here and you do not have to pay extra for them. At Golden Corral, they DO charge you for drinks so its a little extra to eat there. The atmosphere here has a very late 90's/Early 2000's type of feel to it and it was honestly very nostalgic.
They also have a great selection on desserts, salad toppings and your choice of leafy greens, nice and juicy fried chicken, and many more. Their chicken noodle soup was also very delicious and tastes exactly like the one from Granny's Buffett/ Old Country Buffett! I ate more comfortably here than at Golden Corral because it feels more homey and cozy and not like a corporate restaurant. Our server was also very attentive and such a friendly young man. He treated my parents so kindly and they loved him!
I will say that their mac n cheese did lack a little flavor, but I didn't care for it much since I had my eyes and appetite focused on other things. FOR SURE TRY THEIR BREAD PUDDING. I couldn’t get enough of it and had 2 1/2 rounds of it. There is something for everyone here and you will not leave...
