Bubbles + Boba — Restaurant in Garden City

I have been here twice. My first visit was definitely 5 stars. The staff was really nice and it's exciting to try something new. They were out out waffle cones that day but my daughter did get soft serve with all the goodies on it. I had a large boba with extra jellies and peach green tea. Overall, it was a fantastic visit. On our second visit, it was hella busy. While waiting in line, one of the employees coming to work bulldozed her way through pushing myself, my 8 year old niece and 2 other guests on the left of me. Didn't say excuse me. Didn't touch any of our shoulders to see if we can move. Just pushed her was through like we were in her way. The couple on the left of me said "she's probably the owner". Owner or not, that was just plain rude. To make the visit more awkward, she was the one who sealed your drink when you were done concocting your drink. Standing there with a fake smile after she pushed my little niece and I. Not gonna lie, it took a lot out of me not to cause a scene. Her actions to just push her way through guests was just down right trashy. It was my niece's and Sister's first time there and I was embarrassed to have put them in that situation. We ordered 3 different cones and 6 drinks that day. All different so we can try everything. It was good but that second visit was a straight 2 star visit. I'll most likely be back because I adore the concept of this business and I love boba. But I probably won't suggest or bring anyone besides my daughter because I don't want to be or be put in that kind of...

Went the week after opening and wasn't super impressed. I've tried my fair share of boba places and this is probably bottom of my list. I do give them a bit of grace in some aspects with still being new, as far as being out of items. They were out of milk tea and Thai tea and their brown sugar boba pearls, but again those are popular and it was only week 2 for them so I get that... the employees on the other hand I was not impressed by. Only one girl who was restocking was super nice, the gentleman that took our order and another lady behind the counter were not nice at all. I didn't know how their ordering process worked (since they're self serve) and the guy at the counter was very rude to me and my brother when we were trying to order; mind you they weren't even busy. The bubble waffle itself was delicious. It was a little tricky to eat though when the soft serve immediately starts melting in the waffle, then drips out of the bottom of the cup it's served in which made a big mess. Probably won't be back...

✨Good flavors, lots of options

The staff was helpful and friendly right when we walked in. Since we had never been there before, they told us that you choose the size(large or small) you want, the type of boba (brown sugar or honey), and then you fill it up with the liquid. Pretty cool concept!

I liked how clean and spacious the dining area was. I was also grateful that they offered me a sample cup so I could try the flavor options. I tried all of the milk tea options, and ended up going with the winter melon milk tea.

The boba was cooked really well and was pretty firm. I chose the brown sugar boba, as recommended by the staff. Once I mixed in the liquid I couldn’t really taste the brown sugar any more though.

Overall, I had a positive experience! It’s not my favorite boba I’ve ever had, but it had decent flavors, tons of options, friendly staff, and service was fast!
