We had recently taken on the complete remodel of our main floor, and as we neared completion, we sensed that it wouldn't do to move the old furniture back in. We had a collection of what a friend once referred to as "Early Rummage Sale" in style...it wasn't the together, peaceful feeling we wanted to surround ourselves with now that we had updated the bones of our home.
Wanting to shop locally, we headed to downtown Boise. I was excited to see what Echelon on Main Street had to offer, having driven past it so many times admiring what I could see in the windows.
We browsed around...lots of fun browsing to be done there. Then we met up with the owner/designer, Amy Foster Davis, who made suggestions that we hadn't thought of and we sat and talked for quite awhile. We were eager to share our thoughts about the remodel and our hopes to decorate our home in what we had come to conceptualize as "Moody Coastal" in color. Amy asked questions and really listened to us and so we set up a time for her to come see the house and give her a sense of the floorplan.
All this resulted in a newly thought out design use of the spaces we could create. We loved it and we knew she understood what we wanted. We met again at the store and owner Amy guided us through some catalogs for more ideas. We ordered some items that were in store, bought some furniture that was "on the floor" and continued to add to the design over time. We appreciated the process and there was never any feeling of rushing decisions. We think the design service that Echelon offers gave us confidence in our choices and brought new ideas to the possibilities available in home decor that we wouldn't have discovered otherwise.
We are so happy with the way our home feels and looks now and we are grateful for Amy Foster Davis' professionalism, design intelligence and guidance. It has been a pleasure to work with her and Echelon. We are very impressed with the quality of the furniture Echelon has to offer at a number of price points. We highly recommend this amazing store and it's services and feel fortunate to have it right...
Read moreI really wanted to have a great experience with this store. I always prefer to shop local, and feel that Echelon has some beautiful furniture. We ordered a coffee table, explaining very clearly that we need something very durable as we have multiple children and 2 large dogs. We ordered a stone table that was not inexpensive. We were told that the table would hold up well with our "life." We have multiple friends that have stone top tables, and they are incredibly durable (you don't need to use coasters, tables are not porous, etc.) Within a few days our table looked awful. A glass left on the table for a few minutes created a permanent ring. A spilled drink pretty much destroyed the table. We called Echelon and asked what we could do. We tried every tip provided. Nothing worked. We went into the store twice, trying to reason with them that we feel like the quality of the table was misrepresented, or that we got a "lemon." They flat-out refused to help us at all. We didn't ask for a refund- but at least an exchange, or for someone to come out and treat the table. I am astonished by how rude and dismissive the owner(s) were. I truly don't get it. I will never buy another thing from this store, and will be very vocal in suggesting that others steer clear as well.
**Adding this after owner's response. In NO WAY did we abuse or misuse this table, nor did we receive said care instructions. Again, we were told the table would stand up to spills, etc. As is evident in owner's response, clearly the customer is always wrong. (as also seen in responses to...
Read more#1 - I purchased a couch for $3,000 - it had a tear in the seam - Echelon did not stand behind the product.
#2 - My designer recommended Echelon - assured me I would be in good hands with her - we were happy with all purchases made 4 months ago - until the finish is coming off of the table....below is where i am at today.
Simple, fixable issues with the right customer care in place and I'd be a happy camper - read her below evil response...is this the type of business owner you want to spend your hard earned money with? I recommend you look elsewhere - because furniture is man-made; things will go wrong - I suggest working with a team that will back up their products and take care of you.
GO POUND SAND AMY! I will live with my flawed table
They don’t stand behind the quality of their products. Poor customer service across the board.
Updated Post- After Speaking with owner Amy and her hanging up on me....
4 weeks to resolve this...4 weeks.
I give you a zero on customer care and a zero for quality products. Your reputation will continue to decline with your current business approach.
I stand behind my review. Poor quality poor customer care.
