Peter's Seafood & Crabhouse — Restaurant in Garden City

Having never been to a place like this before I had no idea what they sold or what to expect. The girl working was very nice and answered all my questions, I honestly had about 2-3 per item on the menu and she didn't get annoyed even once. It was almost an hour before I even ordered... I was able to sample some items as well so that helped a lot. I ended up getting fried fish, fried shrimp, fries, shrimp fried rice, hush puppies, and garlic butter conch. It was all pretty good but fried food is fried food you know? The conch was REALLY good and they also had other flavors which I was allowed to try. The fried rice was actually really good, I've eaten fried rice from 100s of places before and it always tastes the same or has no taste at all, I can't explain it but this rice was different and really good!!

Overall I will be going here again, I realize it's just another seafood "market" that sells fresh seafood and also will cook it for you but I thoroughly enjoyed my experience so...

The wife is very mean. The husband has a better attitude then her. She snatches your money out your hand and then puts your change on the counter. I told her no butter because they already used too much season and when I got home she put it on all of my items. I will not spend another $40 in their again I will take my business elsewhere. She needs to appreciate her customers more and listen To them. Being polite will help and She needs to learn not to snatch people hardworking money that they paying to help keep your business open... They are overpriced and the amount of food they give u does not add up with your dollars... take your business elsewhere like on Montgomery street to David Crabhouse, East Henry to Bradley Crabhouse, or on Bay st to Nancy seafood they are cheaper and have great...

Update 2: Still my favorite seafood takeout place, but sometimes they gave me unwanted loose crab legs and too much oil/juice. Since the price is based on weight, we ended up paying more without necessarily having more food. —————————————————————————— Update: we went back again the other day. Their garlic crab is the best among all I’ve had. I’ve been to many seafood takeout places in the area, and no one else is at the same caliber when it comes to garlic crab. —————————————————————— My husband and I went there tonight for the first time. We are impressed. The owner (I assume the cashier is the owner) is super friendly. He greeted us, exchanged small talks with me and packed our food very well.
