If you're staying at Great Wolf Lodge, this will be your main option for dinner and breakfast, it's a typical American style buffet with lots of choices for kids even the most picky eaters, including flatbreads, chicken nuggets, Mac n cheese, but also a few items that adults can enjoy such as chicken parm, salmon, salad, roast veggies and soup. The food was not the best quality, not as good as buffets at Disneyland but a better buffet than what you might find at Legoland. If you're vegetarian/vegan you will still have a few options which is not bad. The dessert selection was just okay and drinks are not included, but considering the price, it's a decent value.
Special shout out to our server Cristian who was more attentive than we normally get at typical buffets, positive, helpful and we got an extra treat for our daughter's birthday, making it a very special time.
Also, wanted to recognize Lisa C at the pasta station who was extra helpful and hospitable, and cooked up one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a long time, you can choose exactly what you want in it so really appreciated.
Compared to numerous other theme park restaurants and buffets we've been to, we found this to be one of the better experiences. Most of the time at places like Legoland, or Knotts you never see your server and people don't seem so happy, but at Loose Moose we appreciated how good the staff are.
Dinner is not as busy as breakfast and I think it's a better value. If you show up too late for breakfast, expect less attention and possibly a wait for a table. In the past, we used to see the wolf theme characters visit tables, kind of like Disneyland, but that doesn't happen here which is a little disappointing but that's not a deal breaker. We would still come back if we're...
Read moreWhile obviously not haute cuisine or going to be picking up a Michelin star any time soon, for an all-you-can eat buffet inside of a children's themed resort, Loose Moose Family Kitchen is actually very decent and, at about $27 per adult (and with kids under 4 years-old eating free), quite reasonably priced. The made-to-order pasta station is a tasty option and most of the buffet items were solid, particularly if you target the ones that were brought out most recently. Haters gonna hate, and a buffet in a theme park is an easy target, but for what this is it deserves 5 stars out of 5. We ate here twice, and I'll eat here again without hesitation the next time we stay at...
Read moreQuick breakfast before the water park. Saw a lot of the reviews on food not tasting good however ate here anyways. My kids are picky eaters but they had a variety of “picky eater friendly food” options at breakfast. All the usual stuff you find in a breakfast buffet plus chicken nuggets, mac n cheese, tater tots. Our server’s name was Marie. She was amazing with the kids and very attentive to all the guests. She is definitely an asset to this business! My kids ate everything off...
