URBAN PUNJAB The Royal Kitchen — Restaurant in Garden Grove

We came here for my wife's birthday on Wednesday night after making a reservation, but since it was a weekday, we had the restaurant to ourselves and could pick a table.

We ordered Bengan Bhartha, Malia Kofta, and Daal Makhani along with Garlic Naan, Cheese naan, and Chili paneer naan. The naans were thin and good size. The appetizers were Paneer Tikka and Pineapple Chilli. All the food was fresh and tasty. I give them 5 stars. The waiter forgot to bring drinks menu, but the owner was mind enough to comp us Jamun drink since it was my wife birthday. Again, amazing cocktails!

The service could be improved as sometimes I feel the waiter didn't smile or didn't feel excited to serve you. I was okay paying the 20% since we were a party of 7. The issue I have is when they charge service charge and then electronically ask you to tip without seeing the bill. I even asked the waiter to see my amount, and he said you would see after the tip was chosen. Well, I gave a generous tip on top of the charge, making my bill almost $230 for a night out for dinner. While I thoroughly enjoyed the food, they can revise their policies. I believe there was also a 3% credit card fee. All in all, i am not a fan of such charges. I also did not appreciate that owners literally are working in the restaurant on their laptops next to our table. I understand that the restaurant is not busy but I dont want to see a pile of stuff and someone working. Just fyi!

Went for Lunch, Great Decor, Felt Welcomed as soon as we walk in , No Halal Sign anywhere inside or out on the window , verbally confirmed with server if they serve Halal and answer was everything is Halal , everything we ate had great taste and felt fresh , Naan was amazing and Chai was Awesome , Bu default if you ask for chai they will bring masala Chai , being a Lahori i never drank masala chai and was not in mood to try to had to tell server not to add any masala and it was perfect , go there and you won’t be diss appointed

Update : we were in Anaheim area to attend a wedding and had around 25 guest so I decided to invite all of them for lunch , upon arrival I informed them and very quickly they put the tables together to accommodate all of us , ordered the food and they brought to food in courses which turned out to better, one dish came and everyone enjoyed and 2nd came right after , Fresh NAAN were keep coming , service was amazing and owners didn’t mind helping server as it was Saturday afternoon and there was only 1 server , every one had smile on their face and everything we ask for was fulfilled within very reasonable time with smile, since we were party of 25 service charge was added automatically to the bill which is perfectly fine , at the end everyone who ate that food had nothing but good comments and was super happy because most of them got to drink “ CHAI “ after 2 days , Thank you URBAN PUNJAB you guys...

As soon as we walked into Urban Punjab The Royal Kitchen, we were wowed 🤩 — there’s a super cool motorcycle at the entrance 🏍️, comfy leather chairs 🪑, and big tables that actually fit all the food we ordered (which was a lot 😅🍽️)!

Our waiter was AMAZING 🙌 — super friendly, fast, and made sure everything was perfect. We were most excited for the Chicken Tikka Masala and Shrimp Curry, and let me tell you… THEY DELIVERED 🔥. The aroma alone had us hyped 👃✨ and that first bite? Mind-blowing. 🤯 The tikka masala was perfectly spiced and rich — finally a place that gives real heat when you ask for spicy! 🌶️🌶️🌶️ And no fake food coloring on our fingers after, which was a huge plus 🙌.

The Chili Garlic Naan was crispy, buttery, and delicious 🫓, and the Shrimp Curry was creamy and flavorful with BIG shrimp 🦐 — not those tiny ones other places serve.

It was my birthday 🎉 and they surprised us with free chai and gulab jamun on the house ☕— SO thoughtful and made my day extra special 🥹❤️.

I've searched for years for food like this — even driving to San Francisco — and nowhere compares. This place is the next level. 💯
