Ramona's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Gardena

I really, really love Ramona's. I've been going there since I was about 5 years old. There green chili burritos are my absolute favorite. They also have very good enchiladas, a green Chile plate , and good tamales. The restaurant is always clean and neat. The parking lot is clean as well. If you're unable to find a parking lot right in front of the restaurant, there is parking across the street as well as parking on the street. The lines are almost always very long. It usually takes quite a while to place your order because of the line. There are several people in the back working to fill your order as you wait. There is a window on the side of the restaurant for you to place quick orders. And the line for quick orders is usually not long. Quick orders consist of things like burritos, tacos, tamales, ect. There is seating so that you can wait for your meal to be prepared but there is no sitting area where you can sit and eat your meal. The people there are usually pretty nice and I have never seen anyone have a problem other than my mother's other daughter who literally has problems everywhere she goes. It was difficult to choose between 3 and 4 stars for this restaurant for two reasons. 1. They are a large establishment but there is no restroom or dining area. And 2, the prices have gone up considerably. After going to this restaurant for more than 40 years, I now feel like the prices have become bit outrageous. $8.00 for a green chili burrito is ridiculous. And I've noticed that since they raised the prices on everything, they are not nearly as crowded as they used to be, even though the food taste the same. As much as they're charging for their food now, you'd think they would add a restroom and seating area. Thet definitely have the room for it in their large building. I do recommend them especially if you've never been there before. But I am no longer a regular customer because at their current prices. Instead, I can go to an authentic Mexican food restaurant, sit down and have my meal with chips and salsa and a Margarita. Yes, I love Ramona's but not...

I have visited Ramona's since my dad brought me as a kid in the 60's. I think the establishment may be trying to do too much and the quality is suffering! They omitted the tomato from my taco. I ordered a red chile burrito and I was told that because I did not want rice, it was filled with beans! Essentially no red chile, little cheese that I paid extra for. I had it remade yet it wasn't much better.

Ramona's would do this a few years back and took a lot of heat in the community for their rationalization. They went up on their prices (nearly double) but they put together good burritos, so I felt that that was fine as I'd rather have a well prepared product. Now we are back to the excuses.

So I didn't bring a supply back to Vegas as I normally do. My local family has long given up on Ramona's. I wrote corporate but so far, no feedback. I hope they do better as I would hate to see it become just an average place to visit.

This place is so hit and miss! I visited LA again in July 2025 and spent $40 for three red chile burritos. I asked for hot sauce and extra cheese and received neither. The burritos just don't taste the same. The chile tastes watered down or something. I miss the days when you could count on delicious red chile. I wish that I knew what that spice was. I would just do...

I am so upset at the costumer service this place has ! I will never again come to this location!! The girl at the express gave me a hard time I asked to speak to the manager she was no help at all .i came back twice cause supposedly there wasn’t no funds in my debit witch didn’t make sense cause I had just got paid it’s Friday ! The girl at the express window her name was mellisa at no point tell me anything so I was waiting thinking everything was fine 15 mins past and I go up to window to ask about my food she said it was never charged and that I had left I was sitting on the hard bench for 15!min like I said she could have told me something I didn’t get nothing from her so the manager she claims she was told me I can come inside and she will help me retake my order so I leave and come. Back this time I go inside she seen me didn’t approach me what so ever I’m waitng I ask the girl at the register that I wanted the manager to take my order and she said that she didn’t have access to the register which didn’t make sense so i tell her 20!min ago u told me u where manager and that u said u can help me wen I would come inside she end up saying she was a leader not a manager so not professional what so ever !!
