The team at Merlyn's put together our desert spread at the our wedding this past Friday. Let me tell you, WOW! We have loved this bakery since we'd been introduced about 1.5/2 years ago and choosing them was the best (and easiest) decision ever! The small wedding cake was stunning and tasted amazing, the deserts offered were loved by every guest and looked more like a piece of art than a desert spread. They have flavor and texture to match the artistry, it was so delicious! I will upload photos when we get them back, but wow! Anna was wonderful to work with! First of all, Jun has the best hair. Had to mention that. Second of all, I regrettably don't have any nice pictures this time around because we ate all of our goodies so quickly that I didn't think to snap any but they're SO GORGEOUS and so lovely and thoughtfully packaged! The spiced pear croissant had the stem clasped in the edge of the clamshell when Jun brought it over to us separate from the rest of our order so it would not slide around or dislodge the packet of caramel topping that you get to drizzle on top yourself which I can't get over as such an incredible touch. I have been enjoying these pieces of hand crafted art since the summer they opened. I haven't had delectable culinary creations like this almost anywhere. Let alone in Northern Michigan. Please do yourself a favor & try anyone of there amazing treats. From Savory to sweet they will not be beat. I recommend them to friends from all over Michigan & USA. None have been anything but blown away by the quality & taste. My close friends even had them cater they're desserts for their wedding.
