DP's Pub and Seafood Grill — Restaurant in Garfield

I’ve been looking for good local spot for dinner and read some good reviews of this place. Came in on a Friday night and left vowing I’ll never visit this place again. I’m not sure if it was the way I looked or it’s only for locals but I got the impression I was not welcomed. The positives: They don’t water down the drinks, it’s pretty clean and the lobster sandwich was pretty good. Everything else was a bad experience. Came in solo and was not offered a table but told the bar was open but it was dirty. Was not told anything about the menu. Finally someone took my order and the food came out real quick. Burger was undercooked. After that was not waited on again. Wasn’t asked how the meal was after it was delivered to see if I wanted any changes. Was not asked if I wanted another drink. I can see if the place was busy. But they had three people working and I saw and heard them asking other patrons if they needed anything routinely. I sat at the bar with an empty drink and water glasses and a cleared plate for at least 15minutes before I finally got someone to give me the bill. Even then no thank you or even asking if I need anything. I still tipped 25% cause I’m not a jerk. But never again. I don’t recommend anyone go here unless they are cut from a certain cloth. I never ever give less than 5 stars but I feel like I have to in this case. I love love love this establishment’s food and ambiance and have been going for years! I cannot say enough good things about the food and vibe here. It’s really a GEM. Servers/bartenders are always friendly. But I went on a Tuesday, and as a bartender/server myself in an establishment that requires me to be the solo act as well, I was STRESSED for this woman working the entire place alone. The bartender was attempting to take care of the entire full restaurant.. making drinks, taking orders, clearing tables, running food etc. Again, been there, so I sympathized. However this was the second time I’d dined there on a Tuesday recently and it was the same situation both times: a packed house with one woman trying to keep up. We were there for an hour and change, and once food was brought out by kitchen staff we were never spoken to again (this happened during both visits). In fact, after our appetizer order was taken we never got a second drink or were checked on once. Again, I KNOW it’s tough, but please don’t keep the establishment so short staffed. We would have gotten so much more but we left to go elsewhere because we couldn’t get service. Respect to the bartender who tried her best, but please get her some help! It’s no easy task...

Sadly service was extremely slow with apparent disconnect between wait staff and kitchen. Otherwise exactly the same! Food was great when it finally arrived, tasted exactly like before. Great quality. Prices also appeared to be stable. But don't expect to be rushed in and out like before. We weren't running up a bar bill and they could have turned our table probably twice in the time we spent there. So make sure you have time to spare when you go. Note: I'm referring to a Saturday night experience but we were sitting by 6:15 latest. UPDATE!!!4/1/22 Completely changed except for quality of the food. NOW, they're so busy again that we felt pushed out of our table even tho were there for a birthday.
