Crazy Catfish Restaurant — Restaurant in Garland

Stopped by here on my way home to grab a family order for a 10 piece catfish with fries and hush puppies. This by far was the worst catfish I've ever had in my entire life. It's no wonder the sign on the inside says "no refunds" because they know it's trash.

When I arrived home my eldest son and I grabbed a couple of filets each, fries, and hush puppies. I was initially skeptical before even taking a bite due to how lightly colored the fish was as if they didn't fry it long enough. We both take a couple of bites and look at each other in pure disgust as the fish tastes as horrible as it looks.

The fish was a bit slimy and tasted how you would imagine a lake would taste...very creeky tasting. I tried putting some Cajun seasoning on it, dipping in tartar sauce, and hot sauce but nothing could help this seasonless, light skinned, lake tasting fish. To top it off the next day my son said his stomach was upset and he'd spent a considerable amount of time in the restroom as a result of this fish.

Thankfully it didn't take me down as well and I think it's only because I threw my fish away and didn't eat all of it. Please stay away from this place for your own good. If you decide to go I would definitely not get the catfish.

I've seen this place forever but never stopped because too many kids to please and fish was never an option. Today, I was alone, starving for the whole fish "works", so I stopped by. I got fried oysters, fried butterfly shrimp, fried catfish, french fries and hush puppies. Oysters are evidently very peculiar about being fried. Too much breading and too much "handling" and they shrivel up and are like little rocks. The best oysters I ever had were at Landry's Restaurant in New Orleans; until today. The best tasting, most perfectly cooked, juicy and crispy oysters I have tasted in years. The shrimp was perfect. Not overcooked which is so easy to do. I got 4 big shrimp and 4 large oysters in my order. I ordered a side of catfish; and they too were just perfection! The fries were delicious steak fries. I didn't care for the hush puppies but who is complaining about that! Don't be put off by the looks of this little place. It was spotless inside. My food was cooked to order and done in 12 minutes. The price is scary reasonable! Scary because I don't want them going away! Hungry for the perfect bite? Just go...

Food is good but service is horrible.

Have been a couple times and the last will cause me to not return.

Ordered drinks (tea and lemonade) like I have in the past. Previously a refill was never an issue and given without charge.

This last time, my lemonade cup was filled 3/4 full but I did not think much about it, as if I wanted more, I would get a refill.

Ended up drinking it all and asking for a refill. She tells me they're out but making more. Approximate 15 minutes go by and no lemonade was ever made. When I questioned her about it, she told me it would be 1.99 for a refill.
