I'm in town to visit family and heard great things about this place. When I placed a phone order, I asked for spicy beef tamales among other things ($50+ order). The employee verbally confirmed spicy beef tamales when I arrived and the receipt showed spicy beef tamales. When I got back to my family's house, we had bean and cheese tamales. To have to leave the house to fix an order was already inconvenient but I was happy to do it to make sure we got what we paid for. When I got back to the restaurant to let them know about the order, the customer service had drastically declined. My first encounter made me tip for the service. I tipped the young lady that helped me because a guy at the next register completely ignored me as I stood in line. That should've been an indication of their customer service, but I proceeded to work with the young lady instead and had a better experience. But when I returned to get my correct order (showed my receipt) from a different employee, it made me want my tip back. No apologies for the inconvenience, no recognition of the mistake after I told them about it, nothing. They did ask if I wanted to keep the original order but I declined because it would be too much food to keep. The lady who helped me with the correction explained it to the lady who originally helped me and she said nothing. You would think I was the one who made the mistake originally. I approached the entire situation with kindness and understanding but the matter seemed to have been shrugged off. None of this is life or death, but I spent money for a service to help keep a business afloat. That should mean something. The food was decent, but not good enough to return especially with inconsistent...
Read more—Updated Review: 02/13/2024– Trompo Taco Tuesday is still too good.
Got left on hold for like 8 minutes, I think they forgot I was on the phone with them. I tried to call them back, but it got sent to an automated message that didn’t take voicemails. They should fix their phone system. I ended up placing the order in person.
—Old Review: 09/12/2023– The trompo tacos (Taco Tuesday $0.99 still going) and Birria tacos are fantastic as usual.
The Barbacoa flavor was good, but not great.
The service has improved (especially from the person who took my order before). The boss/owner is awesome as usual, checking up on us.
—Old Review —
Food is great. On Tuesdays, they have an all day deal that’s $0.99 trompo tacos, which are fantastic.
I was grocery shopping and I thought it would be great to order tacos for the family and I called ahead of time. The person on the phone rushed me when taking my order and said the order would be ready in 10 minutes.
-I finished with the groceries and arrived on time to pick up my take out order. I went in paid and ended up waiting 10 minutes extra while my groceries were sitting in 99F weather.
-Usually you would get a cup of beans every 3 tacos, I ordered 7 tacos, but only one cup of beans.
The owner/manager is the guy on top of things and his service is on point, but the experience I had today with the new person was disappointing, which is why I...
Read moreFirst time and was quite disappointed. When we walked in, the establishment was dirty, the floor had a lot of leaves blown in, food on the floor throughout the restaurant, the tables were not wiped down, the bathroom was not attended. Service: Informed the cashier it was first time and what she recommended but was not as helpful. The food did not come out together. The "appetizer" came out last, my husband's food came out first and I told him to go ahead and eat so his food doesn't get cold, by the time I got mine he was finished with his. There were several families that ordered well after us and got their food before I got mine and the guy that came to the table brought a tray but asked if it was my order...and seemed annoyed that I didn't know. Food: we ordered the chicharron with guacamole and it was like 2 tablespoons of guacamole on top of a bed of lettuce. The chicharrones were old, dried, and hard with no flavor. The "cubano" torta was not very good, the bread was soft and the only thing that was good in it was the trompo but all the other meats were greasy and I did not like the hot dog meat. My husband had the barbacoa and trompo tacos which the barbacoa was not seasoned. The only thing that saved it was the trompo, it was juicy and had some flavor. We know that there are multiple locations, maybe this one was not it but may be willing to try a different location and...
