Target — Local services in Garland

Horrible management, the attitude and arrogance of this store front manager will definitely be an issue sooner or later. In order for customers like myself to get a wonderful experience from y’all’s workers you must treat them with respect. Management is nothing without their workers, you cannot run a store if you do not have workers. If the manager and team members have a good relationship then that will reflect in their job. I shop here frequently and there’s a handful of kids who are so helpful and understanding on how needy I can be and very patient with me when I walk in to the store. When i randomly asked them separately if they enjoyed working here since I see them so often. They both said no which surprised me, I’ve heard good stories of target, well except for this one their reason was due to management. They gave me examples of how he treats them, micromanaging them to not listening to their needs. I then took it upon myself to ask different people from around the store because all of these workers are kids and should be getting treated as they should. To say the least the responses I got, I was not expecting it. As a manager you need to see how your team does under pressure, and if you have some that don’t do well then move them to a different position in which where they will not get anxiety attacks. I felt and still feel devastated for them because poor kids they only tolerate this because they need the money badly. Take ownership how horrific of a job you are doing and apologize when you make them feel horrible because they cannot handle the “stress”. A team is when you jump in to help them even as a manager, if you start to question why are they taking so long then that’s the problem because you clearly have no idea what they are going through. How about you go help instead of wondering why it’s taking long. An efficient boss will jump in to worry about them and tell them to take breaks not because it’s “time” for one but because you’ve seen them nonstop going that they must be exhausted. One thing is for sure if you keep micromanaging your workers Josh, you’ll soon have none. It’s sad to say that as any other business it will always seem they are doing everything in their hands to take care of customers and workers when they aren’t. Garland East Target; their customer service department needs some major improvements! I needed to return a vacuum that was defective and they denied my return because according to them them the serial # didn’t match what was on the receipt. They asked me if I had possibly bought two vacuums which I told them that’s the only one I’ve bought. I asked if they could look into it because I know sometimes when you don’t have the physical receipt it won’t get the full barcode. The Indian guy who helped me said he couldn’t help me but that he’ll talk to his manager. They proceeded to go to the back for like 5 minutes only to come back out and tell me the vacuum I was trying to return was not the same one on the receipt insinuating that I was possibly trying to return an old smh! The manager didn’t even try to help me made it seem like I was just trying to return an old vacuum. Garland target, needs to rehire new employees who are willing to help their customers. The Indian guy and the female manager there were very incompetent and provided poor customer service! I felt like I was racially profiled and being judged cause I was a young Hispanic mother with two boys. Every time I go to that target I get those judgy looks when I spend so much money there. They just see a young Hispanic single mother and assume I either can’t afford half the things in my cart or might try to return them later. Granted this is the first time I’ve ever made a return at target!

PS: I went to the Richardson location and the girl who helped me was so sweet and understanding. She took her time in figuring out what the problem was and was not quick to judge and say that was the wrong item I was trying to return. The problem was that since I didn’t have the physical receipt or the original box that the vacuum came in the serial # on the digital receipt was only showing part of it hence why it didn’t scan. She took her time and printed out a physical copy of my receipt and solved the issue in a matter of...

I would most likely tell people to at least check Target out if they are looking for something. I've had mixed feelings about most of my visits to Target. Today's visit was no exception. While some things were great, other things were not so great. I find prices high at Target except for some of the clearance items. The signage is confusing for prices. There was a 50% off sign over one of the counters but only some of the items on the shelves had sale tags on them. I asked an employee to help me. He acted as if it was a hassle and he didn't want to be bothered. He looked and ran his wand thing over the item I was interested in and said it wasn't on sale. I told him that the signage was confusing since it said 50% off right above. He tried to say that maybe it was the other side that was 50% off until I explained that that side said 30% off. It doesn't make any sense to have a sign over a shelf where half the things are on sale and the other half are not. We were happy to find that one of the clearance items we bought rang up less than it was ticketed for. Had we known that other items might have been marked down further than what their tags showed, we might have bought several more items. They lost out on selling us more because of this.
