9/8/24 I just experienced the worst experience I've ever had at TeaZenTea today. I'm not sure if they got a new owner, but Mi (her name) was extremely rude to me. I came in because their Instagram post said it was BOGO all day. The post only specified that the first 50 people get the tumbler, but it said ALL DAY for the BOGO event (11AM-10AM). I waited in line, and when it was my turn, I asked if the BOGO was still happening, and she said no that was only the first 50 ppl. Confused by the post, I read it again and it did not state that it was the first 50 (besides for the tumbler). She agreed to let me get my BOGO, but then turned away and made me wait 20 mins before I could order my drink despite being last in line at the time. I was being considerate and said sure, but thinking back, I think she just picked on me for no reason just to get me that "BOGO" special.
For the first time in all my experience at TeaZenTea, she charged me extra for the boba for my ube taro cream brulee. I ALWAYS went here for that drink and never in the last year that I have to pay extra for boba topping because it was included every time. But okay, maybe new management whatever. Then, she made me pay using Zelle or cash, which is super shady for a business that just "re-opened". When one of the workers was handling me a tumbler, she walked over and yanked it from his hand and said I'm not allowed to have it because I already got BOGO. There were 5 customers before me and I watched them get one from her until me. This felt like discrimination and I was super angry at that point. It's not my fault that their Instagram post was misleading about this event and I should not be penalized for it. I've been a regular fan of this boba shop but I don't think I'll step foot back here because of the new management. Very disappointed.
7/30/23 This is another new boba addition to the area, and I'm so glad it's near me! I came to their BOGO free grand opening and was super impressed with my two drinks. Normally, new boba places all taste and have the same menu, but TEAZENTEA has a lot of unique drinks that I haven't seen before. They even offer free samples of their pandan & ube waffles, which are delicious as well!
For one of my visits, I was in a rush and didn't check my drink, but they forgot my topping. I paid $1 for it so I was a little disappointed when I got home, but I didn't want to leave a bad review because of one mistake. I messaged the business with photos and they offered to fix it instantly. I came back later in the weekend and they gave me a new drink free of charge. I really appreciate them for responding quickly and fixing the problem. I know it's hard when you're a new business so I appreciate them. The drink was delicious also!
Overall, I think this is a solid boba shop and I'm happy it's nearby. Most of my favorite boba places are located in Carrollton, so I'm glad TEAZENTEA opened its first location here in Garland. Prices are a little more expensive, but you do get a bigger cup. I believe they only offer large drinks? I hope they'll have more promotions so I can try out their drinks, but with everything I got so far, I have...
Read moreI went to the soft opening. You order at a kiosk machine, but there's only 1 machine so if whoever is in front of you takes a long time to order then you're waiting a really long time (which is what happened to me). I got: rose milk tea, coconut milk tea, strawberry milk tea, and mango summer - all drinks had boba added and less ice, some had 25% or 0% depending on what was available. They had a lot of drinks unavailable but I'm sure it'll be available later on. Their drinks are definitely more expensive compared to other places. I usually get no ice however, they charge you $1 for no ice which I've never had happen before, so that's why I only did less ice. The toppings are $0.75 which is becoming a much more typical cost for many boba places now. But your drinks can very easily go into the high $6-$7 range which I feel is way too much for 1 drink. Flavor wise everything was ok. I preferred the rose and coconut milk teas which had a nice flavor profile. The mango summer didn't even taste like there was any mango in it so that was really disappointing. Since it's new, the place was nice and clean. A little hot, but at the counter they had fans on but elsewhere at the seating area felt a sort of hot, and I can only imagine it's feel hotter if the place was even more packed. The service was ok. The workers were nice and trying to go as fast as they could. Overall, this isn't an anything special boba place and I think it's great to try one time but I don't see myself coming...
Read moreThis is a brand new boba tea shop I discovered yesterday with my wife. We were shock that we past this gem so many times. The decor was really nice and good place to do work or homework at. The tea that I had was a milk tea with boba. The flavor was really good and the boba was chewy and tasty. The tea was dairy free and the boba was made with honey. I am not going to lie but I was kind of skeptical about the dairy free milk tea but I like to try something new and I am glad I did it. Next was the cherry on top. It was the waffle at first I order the pandas waffle but then wanted to know which one was better Ube or Pandan waffle so I ask. The cashier said she liked the pandan waffle so I was about to go for it but the other worker ( I think was the owner) said they will make me half ube and half pandan. The waffle was so crispy and both ube and pandan was so delicious. My wife and l loved it. We will be back I promise. Please come try them out you will...
