Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Gaylord

Worked here a few years ago and it was always understaffed. And at the time of working there I was a minor that was expected to open by myself or close with another inexperienced minor, or do other such things that we weren’t actually supposed to do. And in the entire time I worked there I never felt that I was fully trained since we were so busy and understaffed. No one had the time to teach me things fully. I had to just use trial and error to figure things out. We were also always overwhelmed with the amount of orders and everything to do. And while in a normal fast food restaurant each employee has a specific job to do that wasn’t the case here. It was every man for himself. Regardless of any job posted as soon as something needed to be done one of the usually two people had to do it because there was no one else to. And since we were so understaffed we gave out food that was questionable looking just for the sake of trying to get food out to people in a somewhat timely manner. And dear god when a rush happened it was utter chaos. Honestly everything about working there was horrible and I understand why people complain. But I will say it isn’t the employees fault most the time. It’s the managements fault for not staffing and running things correctly. The employees just try their best with what they have. The only good thing about the place was most of my coworkers, minus one or two. They’re what got me through the days and...

This place is deplorable. Never in my life have I ever experienced a place that is so mangled, filthy, and disorderly. A crispy chicken sandwich was ordered and they literally did not place the filet on it. A chicken sandwich without the chicken, you do the math. It's not clear if it was misplaced or simply forgotten. The worker did make him a new sandwich,however it was a completely different sandwich.

Then my salad was given to me and it was old as sin. The lettuce was soggy, dark green, and partially rotten. It was decomposing in front of my eyes; im shocked the fungi didn't get up and walk away with the salad. I'm fearful for the series of unfortunate events that will haunt me after eating at this establishment. The ice machine was out of Order and not producing ice. Unsure if this was to be kept secret, as we were not told how to get any ice. EXCEPT the people after us had to wait as they went to Starbucks to get the ice. May any soul that eats there Rest In Peace. That DQ has more issues that Dr.Phil.

The floor looked like I walked into a live episode of hoarders. I was flabbergasted at the amount of detritus/debris on the floor. It was as though this place hasn't been cleaned in approximately 3-6 years. The only pleasing part was watching people shop for fresher produce than what they are serving.

Man where do I start, the younger boy who looks like he’s an actual child acts how he looks. Customer service is rude and he was constantly rolling his eyes and horse playing with associates while my friend and I were waiting for our food. The tables are gross and the pop machine is also very un clean. Instead of calling out order numbers they just said the name of the food in the order which had me and my friend confused cause the other customers also had the same food order as us. The food was good just seeing them dip the ice cream with no gloves on made me uneasy especially with how much the associates were rubbing their faces. Atmosphere broke my mood the Starbucks and Family faire look so nice then there is this DQ just there and gross. Maybe try hiring proud workers and not just some random kids you can easily over work. Customer service really ruined my mood from the start and I was upset during my whole meal along with my friend, why are your associates so miserable that they treat us like garbage from first impression?
