My wife and 2 small children arrived on Monday 12/28/20 with a 2-night stay booked. Upon arrival, there is a sign posted on the entry door stating that all employees and guests are required to wear masks. The 2 woman at the front desk while checking in were without masks. Once given our room, we went to the second floor and saw the cleaning woman in the room across from ours without a mask. Within minutes of that, a maintenance employee was walking the halls without a mask. Now I fully understand that some individuals have medical conditions preventing them from wearing a mask. I respect that. However, the 13 different employees I saw must ALL have medical conditions because not once did I see an employee wearing a mask. This includes employees that looked to be in their mid 20’s through maybe mid 40’s. When I asked the front desk, I was given the explanation that “most of the employees have doctors notes and can’t wear masks”. Seems odd. Not to mention the countless, and I mean dozens upon dozens of guests without masks as well, none of which I witnessed being addressed for their lack of compliance.
On our second night, Tuesday 12/29/20 at around midnight, the fire alarm went off. We rushed our sleeping kids into our car and waited and after 10 minutes the said we could go back in. No fire department showed up. Only the maintenance man (unmasked of course). The explanation we received was “we aren’t sure why the alarm went off but we don’t smell smoke so you can come back in.” I’m sorry but a fire alarm doesn’t just go off for no reason. And after what we witnessed in the first 36 hours we realized the entire staff and operation of this place is completely incompetent.
Packed up our room and drove 3 hours south in a snow storm and felt safer than being in the care of the “Best Western”.
I would not recommend this place to...
Read moreUpon my recent two-night stay at this establishment, I found myself thoroughly disappointed with the overall experience. From the moment of arrival, issues began to arise, starting with a notably unkempt pool and hot tub area, which did not meet basic standards of cleanliness.Furthermore, the inconvenience of being locked out of my room on two separate occasions during nighttime hours was not only frustrating but also concerning for the lack of explanation provided by the front desk staff. Moreover, the recurring malfunction of my key card, necessitating multiple visits to the front desk for reactivation, greatly inconvenienced my stay. This persistent issue detracted from the otherwise anticipated comfort and ease of access to my accommodations.Additionally, the breakfast offerings were disappointingly basic, lacking variety and quality, failing to meet the expected standard of a satisfactory morning meal. Moreover, the design flaw of the bed's high backboards posed a risk of discomfort and potential injury, as the elevated corners posed a hazard to guests' heads if not approached with caution. In light of these shortcomings, I regret to express that I cannot in good faith recommend this establishment to fellow travelers. It is my sincere hope that these areas of concern are addressed promptly and effectively to ensure a more satisfactory experience for...
Read moreNot sure why this is listed as a 2 star but my husband and I LOVED it. I would give it a 4.5 due to hot tub being out of order and nothing saying that until next day. I had chose this specifically for the hot tub to relax. But the front desk girl had not been told it was out of order. We were at dinner when she tried to contact us. Later when I noticed it, she upgraded us, for free, to a jacuzzi room. OMG it was heaven. Big enough for both my husband and myself. We were in there for like an hour. I have fibromyalgia but that jacuzzi tub relaxed my muscles very good. We also utilized the excersize room for about 30 minutes and that was clean and easy to use also. Both rooms had soft clean beds, were nice and clean, great breakfast (for him I was having surgery next day). There is a gas station next door that we heard maybe a few times during the evening when trucks fueled up but nothing major. My only 'complaints' were minor. We could not adjust the heat on the wall unit but went to the one under the window. Plus the curtains billowed up when the fan was blowing. (I fixed it by putting the suitcase holder against it.) Also no vent fans in the bathroom. The downstairs had a little snack shelf where you could buy them. The lobby was nice and decorated for Christmas. We may drive over again just for that little get-away...
