Tremendous experience at Cookie Dough Bliss. One of the few places downtown third street that is worth taking the time for an extra stop to get something sweet; on the same order of quality as Graham's. Initially, I thought this would be 'gimmicky' - something gone as quickly at it started. However, the owners have found a way to map directly in the ambiance of downtown Geneva and provide a one-of-kind desert experience in the region. I ordered the Cookie-Dough Shake (soma and villa ice cream options) and was surprised at the $7.50 price tag - prices on the order of Oberwies shakes.
After skeptically taking my first sip, I quickly realized it was worth every penny - candidly, I'd probably pay $8.50 for the same quality on return. Rich, smooth shake served with a large straw. The straw permits the occasional surprise from the cookie dough (in my case the coconut from the soma) which were welcome additions to the experience (caution if you select cookie dough options with 'hard' elements like chocolate chip.) The experience was such a surprise I had to go back and tell the owners how good it was - and we are talking about a SHAKE, not a steak dinner or some 5-star specialty location.
I look forward to future visits and highly recommend.
NOTE: The staff was also very helpful to my child with a peanut/nut allergy. While they can't guarantee no-cross contamination, I was satisfied with their knowledge of ingredients, allergen procedures (fresh scoop, gloves, using a fresh batch vs. common location serving), and confidence in their kitchen practices. Parents of kids with allergies, you know what I am...
Read moreVEGAN COOKIE DOUGH, NOT ICE CREAM!! I don’t think that was made very clear. The person helping us was not helpful, unfortunately. Maybe I should have distinctly said it was our first time there and that we didn’t live close. When I asked how the scoops went they said, “like any other ice cream..”. I mean, okay. Then I am expecting to get a spoonful of ice cream when I taste it. Good cookie dough, though! I hope it bakes nicely. I got 3 scoops of vegan flavors (lemon sugar, cookies n cream and chocolate chip cookie dough). 1 cookie. 1 scoop of strawberry cheesecake. Spent a little over $19 — and still went on mission to find vegan ice cream.
EDIT 03/31/25: After the owners response to my review and lack of accountability for their employees’s customer service (even saying that my opinion of what I experienced was “harsh” and a "misunderstanding”) I wish I would have given this place 1 star- maybe even none if that was an option. Let’s start with being more friendly and simply asking folks “Is this your first time in?”.
Also, the “dough” does not turn into cookies when...
Read moreTreated the family to Cookie Dough Bliss. It was good and looked clean inside, however there will naturally be other places people personally may rather go to, and the family all agreed we personally like a different dessert spot better. Didn't have the highly rated shakes though. With what I ordered there was one small strand of blonde hair found within the cookie dough, it happens. The employees do wear hats, didn't see gloves used. For those that are concerned, the front of the house employees show off their smiles, so in other words, masks are not worn. However the staff is not rude by any means. My interaction was being greeted, asked if we have been there before, that we can sample what we would like ordering, cashiering, thanked and farewelled. Definitely recommend one scoop of whichever cookie dough you want, and a scoop of ice cream or whatever otherwise you may need to take a break eating or need a drink of something (As my wife and daughter found out) Unless I missed it, offering a visual for "Staff favorites" or similar may help...
