👉Update: It was better! It was good, until it was N🚫T! We started off with a warm greeting. This always makes us feel like a restaurant really wants our business. Then, after we were seated in a very comfortable booth, our waitress Emily came over so fast, she scared me! The restaurant was empty except for an elderly couple who left a few minutes afterwards. Emily was so friendly, attentive, helpful, and very energetic. This was also a plus; and missing from most businesses today. She apologized for scaring me, but since we were her only customers, she was supposed to be fast. So naturally it pains me to have to tell you that the cook messed up our wonderful evening, but I MUST.
JP's sirloin plate was fine, but after he ordered, they had N🚫 more baked potatoes; so he had to choose another side. Not what we expected, but okay, he adjusted. JP said, "The Mac 'n Cheese was good!"
It was my BOGO Burger meal, that ended up being half of a T🚫TAL FAILURE! Emily suggested this burger meal because it was their Thursday special, and they were good to her! The burgers arrived, and were huge. But, after eating just half "the patty melt," (which I added grilled mushrooms, lettuce and tomatoes) and the delicious vegetable medley, I was full. The only down side to the first burger was the meat had a little bit more salt than I like. Probably, the bacon mayo.
However, the failure was, the three cheese burger (that JP didn't want last night, but would take for lunch the next day) we were supposed to take home. 🚩But the cook left the "parchment paper" between the cheese and it was melted between the other two, placed on the meat, then, the bacon was placed on top of the three cheeses, and brought to our table. We didn't even notice it at first, nor did Emily. I was so00000 SHOCKED, I forgot to capture it on my camera. It's N🚫T normal to take pictures of your food! Neither do I enjoy negative reviews; and I hope Cotton Patch doesn't lose customer's. But this was totally unacceptable, and unbelievable.
I'm sure the Holy Spirit pointed this paper out to me, because after I ate the grilled vegetables from my patty melt, I tasted some of JP's fries...then there it was, just a shining in the light. I saw that most of the cheese was melted, but I started moving a piece of the cheese, but that was it, parchment paper! Really? Unfortunately, yes.
In all my years, I have NEVER been served a burger with "parchment paper" between any of it's layers: be it bacon, lettuce & tomato, cheese, or no cheese. It just D🚫ES N🚫T happen!
The Manager did a great thing though, he replaced the second burger, and deducted the cost of my BOGO Burger meal. That's why we'll give them another chance to do better.
I wanted to give them 5 stars because of our wonderful waitress Emily, and the Manager. But, that wouldn't be fair.
This was our first time at this location, so it's N🚫T a good first impression. We think the cook had a total...
Read moreI am very disappointed in my visit today. My family and I walked in literally at the same time as another family. There were a sea of open tables in the restaurant. The family ahead of us was seated right away. When I walked up the host states to me that there is going to be a 15-20 minute wait. I find it very interesting that two families walk into a restaurant at the same time both with the same amount of people in their respective parties and one is told to wait. No problem initially. I ask the host if she could have the manger explain this to me. The manager came out and explained that the restaurant was short staffed today. He explained that he did not have enough servers to efficiently serve the tables already seated. He continued by stating he did not want to "slam" the servers and wanted to put space between seating more guests. My family obliged and I sat down and waited. Not even 5 minutes later another family walks in and the host immediately seats them no questions asked! I am flabbergasted! I immediately (but calmly) approach the host station and ask why she is seating another family when I was told to wait! She rudely motions to the table and states "Can you guys fit there?" Pointing to a two person table. I responded, no we cannot but we can at the other 7-8 empty tables throughout the dinning room. I asked to speak to the manager again. Another manager comes to speak with me. I explain that if my family was not seated because of a lack of staff, how is another family sat for service right after I’m told this? It wasn’t a case of a smaller party arriving and the larger party having to wait because there are no tables large enough to accommodate my party. There are a plethora of available tables! I am told you have no servers to serve my party but now you do for another family? Nothing had changed! No other patrons had left. The only thing that was different was our race. Both the party before us and after us were both Caucasian and my family is not. The white families are both seated right away. The black family is told we have to wait. I am appalled that this is the day and age we live in. To add insult to injury this young lady who was the host made another very rude comment as we left the establishment. Which I refuse to repeat as it was very hateful. I will be reporting this to the human rights commission as discrimination and contacting the corporate office. I will never patronize this...
Read moreI was so excited when this restaurant first came to Round Rock, and they opened with great service and food. In the last few years, we stopped going as service really took a nose dive and management didn't seem reactive at all.
I decided to give them another try as i was craving a CFS and they did a pretty good job last time i had it several years back. I used Uber as I have seen they have a long pick up line every time i drive by. We ordered 4 CFS and sides and asked for gravy not on the side, just cream gravy using the menu app.
Order was delayed twice and two uber driver had to be changed before it was ready, so after almost 2 hours our order arrived, we live literally 5 minutes away so Uber did a good job , delay was on cotton patch.
We opened the CFS starving and what is missing , Gravy! who in Texas eats a dry fried CFS without gravy? Like eating cereal with no milk if you're not from around here.
I get in car and hustle up to get gravy, when i arrive 3 minutes later there is literally one table with one guy, a line of 5 cars and 3 hosts 3 servers i mgr 3 cooks and an expo. WTH was the service problem, asked for gravy for 4 CFS and helpful host goes back to get it and comes back with one small container, while MGR oblivious to the issue even though i was pretty emphatic, just went over closing duties with host.
Being former restaurant GM i basically and rudely said can you go help the hostess get my gravy as she seems lost and can use some guidance. Since ToGo is obviously keeping this place afloat right now i would figure they would be focused on getting orders out quick and correct. not the case and same basic attention to customer i saw two years ago.
Got back home 10 minutes later and the CFS was good with the gravy hence the two stars.
I learned my lesson and will never order from here or recommend again. Next time i have a craving for CFS i'll drive to San Marcos and...
