I dont normally take time to write negative reviews it's hard enough out there BUT I and I'll add I'm a bit hangry right this minute. I ordered chicken pot pie with sides of fresh green beans and squash casserole. The pot pie dough was virtually raw inside and pretty thick to boot. Pun. And honestly although it tasted of chicken. They must shred it in a hopper. I literally found about 3 tiny forkable pieces of chicken. Otherwise there around 8 small pieces of carrots. A couple of odd kernels of corn. Truly unappealing in every way. The beans while fresh were slightly burnt and acrid. The casserole again suffered from the appearance of being prechewed. Again not appetizers. Makes it worse that I drove into town and back round-trip of 40 minutes. Specifically ordered the casserole and pot pie to travel home. Pics to follow. Like the people. And the location. Not what I was given this evening. One word unfortunately and it's gross. Threw it all out. Now making a hotdog with some chips. 🦧🙊Not a revenge review just what happened to me.

Over priced. Me and my mom ended up splitting the combination platter with flounder and oysters. The waitress said it came with two large pieces of flounder so we went the sharing route since it was lunch. The waitress also said it came with two sides so my mom ordered collards and I ordered squash casserole. When the food came out we had one piece of flounder and like 8 oysters. This meal was $38! The collards were sweet 🤮 and the casserole was okay. When we ordered I told the waitress we usually ate flounder at River room and she assured me this was BETTER. Sadly no. By far was it better. We didn’t even ask for the second piece of fish because the taste wasn’t that good anyways, a lot of breaded and no fish but when the bill came we saw a charge for $2 extra per side??? She couldn’t explain why so she offered a $2 gift card to cover one of the charges but we told her no thank you because we wouldn’t be back. She was super nice.

I don't leave many reviews, but had to with this one. We ordered pickup and got parmesan seafood dip with chips and I am not sure why they decided to use flour tortillas over corn tortillas because fried flour tortillas have a not great texture/taste. The seafood dip i think is pretty good, my boyfriend disagrees. Then we ordered county fried steak WITH GRAVY, and got NO GRAVY. I had to cook my own gravy for it. The collards are not fully cooked, the "butter" beans are lima beans. The steaks are definitely overcooked, tough, and taste like over fried flour. The macaroni and cheese is dry and hard. The mashed potatoes are great! Other than the mashed potatoes nothing had any flavor. We did call and the situation did get rectified but honestly not sure we will return. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and we were very disappointed.

My husband & I went to SOCO 8-13-22 for our anniversary bc several friends said it was good food & for us to try it. However, we were HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. I had grilled stuffed grouper, green beans & coleslaw. I had 2 bites of fish bones included(free of charge) & the seafood stuffing was horrible. The green beans were rubbery & I took 1 bite if coleslaw & got a mouthful of vinegar. My husband ordered brisket with blueberry bbq sauce, mashed potatoes & collards. The brisket was a roast with TONS OF FAT, the blueberry bbq sauce was nice. The mashed potatoes were good(that’s all he ate of his dinner, which was more than I had) & the collards were bitter, dry & tasted like they had been cooked in vinegar. We LOVE southern food especially with a flare but this was TERRIBLE. Our waitress was nice & she knew we didn’t like it bc we told her. My plate appeared untouched & the potatoes were all my husband ate. The appetizer Hot Seafood Dip was wonderful but the tortilla chips that were served with it was burnt. We had to request non-burnt chips bc apparently they serve them burnt, go figure. $75 & change later we left HUNGRY AND DISAPPOINTED. If you decide to visit SOCO anyway, you’ve...

I never in my life had a bad country fried steak till tonight as one just can't go wrong cooking the country fried stakes. Maybe they had a wrong cook tonight.....both hubby n I ordered country fried steak and we both agree there was something was wrong with that stake. The stake, not only tough but very chewy. What made it worse was that stake seemed like fried first, then dipped into to some sort of batter then fried again. The crust was hard and when tried to cut the meat, it just cracked and fell right off of the meat so we ate the meat without the crust. Both hubby n myself had different sides and they were also weird. Mashed potatoes were bland and not much flavor. Usually, I am not a picky eater and even if something on my plate is not perfect to my liking, I would just move onto something else on my plate. However, tonight's meal was different and between meat, and 2 sides......let me just say that based on my experience tonight, I would not recommend to anyone to try this place out. On other hand, my daughter had a sandwich and she did enjoyed so maybe I should have gone with a...
