I really struggled with giving two vs three stars. I wish there was a half star option because this place is a solid 2.5 stars. And, honestly, one full star is because they had heavy cream- which many coffee places do not. We visited at 9:30 am on a Saturday morning in late September and the place was crowded. Since we wanted coffee to go we thought that would be a quick transaction at the counter. This was not our experience at all. To begin, there was what seemed like chaos around the to-go area with people putting their names on a list to be seated, others waiting for to-go food and others, like us, wanting to order to-go coffees. Not a single Brewed Awakenings employee acknowledged or seemed to want to help us. After waiting approx 15 minutes, we ordered 4 drip coffees and 2 blueberry muffins to go. It took 25 minutes to prepare. The coffee was strong but went well with my heavy cream. The muffins were horrible. Just horrible. Everything was served in styrofoam - which is always disappointing. For 30+ minutes while we waited, waiters walked by with plates of breakfast food that looked delicious. An order of biscuits and gravy went past that looked absolutely divine. I would probably go back when I had all the time in the world to wait and try the food but would def skip this place for quick, to-go coffees.

Absolutely not. We come in at almost 11, they give us a breakfast and lunch menu, I order a club sandwich. The waitress told me I can’t order a club until noon. I’m understanding and order a breakfast sandwich I don’t want. I order an iced coffee- a different server explains their coffee is so strong and I need to add milk. I tell him to add a little bit of cream. The first iced coffee was pretty good- it is absolutely strong. No stevia in the restaurant so I do without. I have to flag down a second waitress for a refills for my boyfriend and I. I order a second iced coffee which is nearly WHITE when it’s delivered. I send it back explaining that it’s way too much milk. She doesn’t even remake it- I get the same thing again, and I was just done at that point. Seriously just tastes like a full glass of whole milk- I would love for the owner to tell me that’s how iced coffee looks. The full iced coffee is sitting on the table as she charges me $38 for both iced coffees, a tea, a classic breakfast and my breakfast sandwich. No comment, no offer to take it off. So after tip, $45? What a waste. Awful service. Go to Grit & Grind for actual iced coffee.

Came here on vacation- small little place on the strand, unassuming from the outside. BUT THE FOOD, COFFEE, AND SERVICE WAS PHENOMENAL! We are "foodies," "coffee snobs," and also former waitstaff, and so we are pretty discerning and have a high bar...this little place was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh, perfectly seasoned. Coffee was just right, and our waitress was wonderful- someone who was genuinely friendly and you can tell actually enjoys her job and the place where she works. The chef and owner, Anthony, came out to say hello to all the tables and it was absolutely wonderful to meet him. His passion for food really came through and such a nice guy. Offered to bring us back in the kitchen and teach us, and we were tempted! 😄 If we lived local, we would be here ALL the time. If you're looking for coffee, breakfast, or lunch, DON'T miss Brewed Awakening!!

My son and I were excited to try this place while exploring Georgetown for the day, as we’d never been before. When we walked in, it looked like you order at the counter, but we didn’t see a menu right away. I eventually noticed one at the register and asked the waitress with dark red hair if I could have a minute to look at it. She seemed annoyed, but I figured maybe she was just having a rough day. We moved to a booth off to the side to stay out of the way.

She then came over and asked if we were going to eat there or not. I explained that we were but were still deciding (and that we might sit outside). Perhaps we were supposed to wait to be seated—I wasn’t sure, as it was our first time there. She quickly escorted us outside and asked what we wanted to drink. I mentioned I’d seen a green tea in the cooler, but she said they didn’t have any. I politely asked if I could check, went in, and found the green tea along with a Coke for my son, and brought our own drinks out.

After that, I’m not sure if she ended her shift or just got busy, but she never came back. We sat outside for about 20–30 minutes with our drinks, but no one ever returned to take our order. Eventually, we just paid for our drinks and left.

That said, the other staff members were incredibly kind and welcoming—the brunette waitress was friendly and helpful, the lighter-haired girl behind the counter was very sweet, and even the man behind the counter, though he seemed stressed, seemed kind. The food looked amazing, and I imagine it’s probably a great spot overall. Unfortunately, I just didn’t get to find...
