We’re staying in Georgetown SC, a truly lovely town, and while getting to know the area everyone raved about Franks restaurant in Pawley Island, a legend of over 35 years. Well, it just so happens that a brand new 631 Franks on Front opened the same day we arrived in Georgetown so we HAD to check it out. How lucky could we get! We’re staying just a block away at The George Hotel (highly recommend) so we took a walk to see if we could get in later that evening. They weren’t open but the entrance was open so we poked our head in and met the owners who were setting up preparing their unbelievable restaurant for the evening. It would be just their second night and the place was immaculate and welcoming. Elaine, such an amazingly warm kind and personable person gave us the scoop about Franks…SO proud of their little baby of a restaurant (and she should be) that we couldn’t wait to return for our anniversary dinner that evening! No reservations but Elaine suggested we come around 4:30 (they open at 5:00PM)and grab a seat at the bar until our table would be ready. Fast forward to 4:30…we are greeted by the most delightful accommodating and welcoming hostess, Kim Teeples, whose sole purpose was to make our anniversary dinner the most special night of our lives…and as it turned out…IT WAS!!! We were escorted to the back to a table overlooking the outside deck and marina…what a view. Adjacent to the open kitchen it was fun to watch our food preparation and the entire team’s seamless execution(led by Chef Lenny who is incredible)in delivering hot super delicious meals throughout the restaurant. You can imagine the activity but we were still in our own little world with the best view and succulent food! Everyone was super attentive down to the waterers and bussers, BUT our night was made by having Michael as our server! He is undoubtedly one of THE BEST servers we have had anywhere! He is omnipresent but unobtrusive (there but not there if you know what I mean)His personality is infectious…polite and engaging wanting to make your time with him unforgettable understanding the reason you’re dining here is to relax and experience meals served hot off the grill without a care in the world…drinks refilled before you knew it, appetizers and entrees put in at appropriate timing to assure the hottest freshest presentation and a luscious carrot cake dessert brought the most fantastic meal ever to an end! Mission Accomplished Michael!!! You are truly one of a kind and we sincerely thank you for it! And thanks again to Elaine, Kim and Lenny and his unbelievable team…you made our day!Anyway…we left overly stuffed but COMPLETELY satisfied…so much so that we’ve returned the last four...
Read moreWe had a dinner for 2 on a tiny table not even big enough for 3 plates . 😡 New York strip and 2 tiny crab cakes, mushrooms and spinach garnish. We ordered the steak medium/rare …it was served raw 🤮. They took it to the back again and after receiving the steak again, it was tough and some parts of it , the steak was done ….it looks like they used a torch for it. It was a huge disappointment…they offered to make it right a small cheesecake…the cheesecake was one big sugar cake …it was so sweet from the sugar …we left more of the half on the plate . After receiving the $100 bill for 1 disappointing steak and 2 tiny crab cakes and a little bit of spinach and mushrooms garnish., 1 beer and a tequila….other guest next to us were shaking their heads after seeing our served food. I talked with the manager and the only thing she said I’m sorry ….not even one attempt to make it right . What a huge disappointing evening and...
Read moreOh my goodness! This restaurant was fabulous in every way. Not many reviews yet because the restaurant is new to this area but all the locals know about it. We are so glad the folks at The Kiminski House recommended it to us. We are not from this area. When traveling we use Google reviews and local recommendations to find the best places to eat. We almost missed this one.
Everything we ordered was well prepared and beautifully presented - pimento cheese dip, crab & beet salad, fried oysters, mussels, carrot cake, & chocolate cake. So, so delicious. The service was outstanding (thank you Jamie). The food was served quickly and it seemed like we were attended to by everyone employee in the house. The manager (Alayna) is warm and welcoming. I give my highest...
