It is hard to believe that by the year 2024, there are still businesses that don't seem to understand that when you have a bad policy, you are going to pay the repercussions of it through reviews and lost business. This restaurant is a textbook case. I go in because I want to order a stromboli to go. As soon as the cashier who doubled as the waitress behind the bar rang it up, I knew something wasn't right. I looked down at the receipt and lo and behold, I'm seeing a takeout charge that is actually more than 10% of my food bill. Yes, a takeout charge! The cashier told me that she could not remove it because the owners had programmed this charge into the system. Apparently, the ownership decided in their wisdom that it made sense to attach a charge that is not mentioned on the menu to help pay for their cost of running this restaurant. They could have wrapped my sandwich in just paper if they are trying to charge for some kind of takeout container which should cost almost nothing because NO OTHER RESTAURANT ON PLANET EARTH DOES THIS! I'm going to guess that most people pay this fee not even noticing it on their bill because they don't even look at it and then you share some of that fee with your wait staff essentially forcing a tip from a customer who is getting something to go.
Regardless, that is a horrible business practice to attach a fee onto your actual price proving that you don't understand the power of the internet. Not only that, but your waitress suffered. How so? After I walked out of the restaurant, I grabbed my water in my vehicle and walked right back in and said I'll get that Stromboli to eat here. I don't know if the waitress knew at this point what was going to happen but she didn't get a tip and she did nothing wrong! I felt bad for her but I don't feel guilty about not leaving a tip because it was her who chose to work for a stupid owner who cost her a tip by pissing me off trying to attach a takeout fee to my order. The restaurant put my stromboli onto some paper which cost you money, gave me napkins which cost you money and put it in a Red basket which you had to wash and then gave me metal utensils that you also had to wash. You really didn't think this through did you? To the owners, you need to change your policies because you're being idiotic. To the waitress that I stiffed, you should complain long and loud but not to me. Complain to your boss who stuck a takeout charge onto my bill causing a chain reaction of events that led me to eat there...
Read moreNormally I don’t make one star reviews, considering I have always been a part of the food and beverage industry, but this place was just dirty and the service was terrible. My sister and I came in to get a to go pizza and sat at the bar to have a beer while we waited. The bar was full of bangles cups, McDonald’s cups, old food and to go boxes, dirty napkins, loose change and crumbled up receipts. Our bartender didn’t even attempt to clean anything up. My sister is a bartender and I’m a former one, so seeing the lack of consideration for your guests means you must not care. And no, she was not busy and unable to get to it. She sat on her phone almost the entire time. The overall atmosphere was filthy and unappealing. The bar itself was completely cluttered with the employees purses, cups and prescription pill bottles. We asked what they were and she says “ibuprofen”. Okay. Still shouldn’t be out in the open like that. Our bartender didn’t even open our beers for us. Just sat them down in front of us. I don’t know, maybe that’s customary in Georgetown but I would never expect my guests to do that for themselves as I am expecting them to tip me. The pizza was decent, definitely better than the Pizza Hut next door so at least they have that going for them. Would I ever go back in the future? Probably not. I think the overall atmosphere needs a facelift and customer service...
Read moreThe Pizza was amazing as always. Here are my 3 stars worth on the staff: no one greeted us, then when our cheerful and friendly waitress came, she took our drink order, but got it wrong( fixed it), came back to see if I needed a refill but didn't ask if my husband would like one, who had tried to yell after her that he would like another drink as well, but didn't get one. She brought my drink out with the pizza. As she turned away to be on her way, I stopped her and told her that my husband would also like another drink ( which had been empty for a bit now), not sure where the disconnect was there. The bench I sat on was sinking in deep, almost as there was no support. Another couple that cam in was going to sit behind us in that booth but was told that the bench there is broken. There is a sheet rock repair job in the ceiling that seems to have been there for a bit. Not sure what has happened, but it feels like something changed here. Service used to be on point and repairs where done. Hmmmm, did management change? New Owners? I don't know. Anyway, the food was still good. May just...
