Cakes Like Velvet — Restaurant in Georgia

I recently ordered from Cakes Like Velvet. I had the order shipped because I reside in a different state. There was an issue with the USPS carrier service that was used. It took approximately six days for me to get the order. I reside in TX, and the owner of this company lives in GA. I don't know why the shipping, too, as long as it did. The company stated they selected two-day shipping for my order. I would not use USPS for this service as USPS is known to be slow and sorry. With this product, FedEx or UPS would be a better choice, again allowing the customer to pay for expedited shipping. Once I received the order, the cold insulated packs were melted and poorly wrapped around the cakes. The cakes were wrapped in a container with saran wrap and insulated mini ice packs. My hands were sticky as some of the icing off the cakes had melted through the opening of the containers mixed with the water from the insulated mini ice packs. I had to clean each container with a wet towel. I brought my concerns to the owner, who made it right and rectified the issue. I wish that expedited shipping was offered. Let the customers pay for the shipping and materials to ensure their cakes come in excellent condition. The prices of each cake slice were pretty good. I received free shipping for my order. The cakes were delicious, moist, and had lots of icing, which I am happy about since I lost some of the icing due to the packaging. The cakes were some of the best that I had ever tasted. Used to be one of my favorite places to visit was in the same plaza as the DMV I have ordered from them since they went solely online even referred my employer, which has over 70 employees that order cake slices from them For our monthly employee birthday celebration in College Park ga. Which I will be telling the director Assistant to no longer order from them, to say the less you can’t support black businesses sadly! Some of the best cake I have in the ATL… period! Ordered some of the $5 cake slices and they did not disappoint. Pre-ordered a week out and was promptly delivered the following week. Very moist cake slices with incredible flavor. Definitely made from scratch and with care. My husband enjoyed the key lime slice. I had a strawberry slice, and an almond slice. I have a red velvet slice waiting for me back home now (had to save my fav for last LOL)! I would highly recommend ordering whole cakes even though I ordered slices. I will be ordering from them if I have an occasion where I am serving cake, no doubt about it. And will be getting more slices soon!
