Carol’s Cafe is located off Barrette Parkway in an established shopping center, and their building is easily spotted from the main road.
We were looking for a brunch place that wasn’t packed, and we got lucky—seated promptly upon entering. After choosing our booth, our server brought menus right over.
The table was equipped with a convenient basket containing everything we might need: salt, pepper, butter, jelly, sugar, ketchup, straws, and napkins. This was a nice touch, eliminating the need to call the server for extras.
For drinks, we ordered decaf coffee. For food, we tried a variety of dishes: biscuit and sausage gravy, the southern breakfast, the full skillet, a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit with breakfast potatoes, and French toast.
Carol's coffee was hot and satisfying, and their biscuits were some good ol’ cat head biscuits, perfectly paired with flavorful sausage gravy.
The southern breakfast was also a highlight, offering a well-balanced variety. We ordered eggs over medium, a sausage patty, gravy, and of course, another biscuit.
The full skillet could easily feed two people. It featured a base of hash browns topped with onion, ham chunks, cheese, and two eggs over medium—a savory and filling dish.
The bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit made for a tasty sandwich, complemented perfectly by the soft yet crisp breakfast potatoes.
Lastly, the French toast was delicious! It wasn’t overly sweet, so when we added syrup, it had just the right amount of flavor.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Carol’s Cafe. The family-friendly atmosphere, home-cooked meals, and Southern staples make this spot one of a kind. We can’t...
Read moreNo wait to be seated, even at nearly noon on Easter! The service was excellent, breakfast was out of this world with generous portions, and the coffee was hot & fresh. I had ordered a ½ Skillet, which came to me in an 8" frying pan loaded up with a mound of hash browns, lots of onions & ham chunks, covered in an abundance of shredded cheddar, then topped with an egg that was cooked precisely to my liking... And served with a side of toast. Fairly priced at about $6. So delicious that I tried my best to clean my plate but couldn't quite do it. The server even gave us a short history lesson about Carol's Cafe. Originally owned & operated by a woman named Carol, this little restaurant has been searching up deliciousness to dinner of the same original customers for approximately 50 years! Couldn't ask for a...
Read moreWhen you think Café Food, Carol's is your place that you want to go. It's a wonderful little hole in the hall restaurant but they are worth your time to check out. My partner and I go there every so often when we want Café style food because we know what we are getting with Carol's and thats a good meal and awesome service. I love their chicken fried steak and my partner loves their hamburger steak. My partner and I have been to many of steak houses where she's ordered her steaks medium rare and they all have come medium well, every time she orders her hamburger steak at Carol's it's come out medium rare every single time. I'm big on consistency and Carol's has hit that mark every time. I would suggest checking them out. And as always be kind to the staff at any restaurant you go to they're hard workers...
