We just had my son’s 2 year birthday here. I chose Catch Air because we have friends with kids of all ages and it has something for everyone. Everyone had a blast and we will definitely come back for playtime. The facilities were clean, stimulating for all ages and just all around amazing. It’s absolutely worth our 1 hour drive for a special play date with the family.
The real kicker that left me disappointed and had me drop a star in my review, was being asked to leave in the middle of my son’s birthday party to pay our party bill. We were paged to our room and had pizza served at 12:20, but I was then asked at 12:43 to leave the party room to square up the bill. This was right in the middle of our jam packed 40 minute “party time” countdown. This could have been done anytime before or after the limited 40 minute party time, however, with a room full of guests and while attempting to feed myself, my 2 and 4 year old (Daddy had to leave as a guest of ours had blown out a tire on the freeway en route to our party), sing Happy Birthday to my son and cut his cake I was asked to leave and pay the bill. Because I didn’t immediately go to the front desk to pay and instead stayed in the party room to sing happy birthday to my son and watch him enjoy his cake, I had a manager come down to the room to request payment. Mind you our party time wasn’t over, we were still within our 40 minute time limit.
The exit is literally barricaded so it’s impossible to skip out on the bill and if there was a time crunch or concern about the possibility of not paying the bill I could have been asked on arrival to put a credit card down. I could have been asked to do this at ANY OTHER TIME other than during our party time. Thankfully, Hubby returned and he went to the front desk to pay the bill so I could wrap up the festivities with the birthday boy and our guests. To reiterate the point, my husband shouldn’t have had to do this either. He deserved to enjoy as much of the party time as he could as well. This was an inappropriate time to handle the bill. A parent should not be requested to leave the party to pay the bill when there are such extreme time limits of how long the party room can be used. It should be done before or after. If there is precedent of people not paying the bill, then change your practice to request a credit card on arrival, but don’t demand a parent leave their child’s party.
All in all, if my 4 year old requested Catch Air for his party I would consider booking it again as everyone had such a great time. Catch Air staff was very accommodating with our dietary restrictions going so far as to order turkey pepperoni for our pizza, for which we are so thankful. Everyone was kind and the facility is great, versatile for children of all ages and appeared clean. Overall, it will provide a family an entire day of fun! Knowing what I know now, however, I would request beforehand to speak to the manager and communicate that I am fine paying before or after, but that I expect not to be harassed in the middle of our 40 minute time limit to settle the bill. If this could not be honored, I would search elsewhere for a venue for our next birthday party.
And if anyone from Catch Air reads this, our party attendant AJ was kind, courteous, very helpful and truly cared about us having a positive experience. He enjoys his job and it shows. Also, Catch Air should be a trendsetter and allow parties to be held in the party room for 60 minutes rather than 40. It would make a boatload of difference.
I hope this helps anyone who may be pondering having a birthday party at catch air...
Read moreI recently hosted a birthday party at CatchAir Marietta for my two - and five-year-old children. Our party was scheduled for 10 AM, right when the place opened. This timing turned out to be quite inconvenient because we couldn't start and arrive simultaneously. When we got there, people were walking up and waiting.
As people started lining up to enter the building, we joined them. I didn't anticipate this being an issue since we had a scheduled party and had already paid a deposit. However, when the doors finally opened, we were made to wait with everyone else. There was no priority given to our excited birthday kids waiting to celebrate.
When I expressed my disappointment, the General Manager, Kaylee, responded in a cold and matter-of-fact manner. Asked to have the owners information or the person above her, and she stated she didn't feel comfortable with providing me with that. During check-in, she was less than thorough. I found myself having to ask questions about the expectations and trying to confirm details on how the itinerary would go for the party.
The experience was disappointing not only because of the poor treatment from management but also due to disorganized communication. They hovered over us in a micromanaging way rather than being helpful matter. Even complained about our veggie sandwich trays, threatening us with a $70 cleaning fee if we didn't take them out of the facility. Following an issue with our salad eggs, citing potential allergies, which seemed odd since we, as the party hosts, would be aware of any allergies among our guests.
We were eating in a private party room, not walking around with eggs in our hands. It’s no different than if we ate eggs at home and came there. The party attendant they assigned to us was useless. My mother and I set up the whole room, and my entire family cleaned the room after we finished, except for sanitizing the tables and floors. I found that I was talking to CatchAir more than enjoying my children's party. I even had to ask if the party attendant could leave while we sang happy birthday, but he refused, stating that he needed to start cleaning. So, he is in the background of all our photos and videos, eventually asking management to tell him to step out because we still had paid time left in our room and wanted to enjoy our cake.
While Kaylee did allow us to keep the sandwiches and salad eggs after my mother apologized for the miscommunication and agreed to pay the fee, which I found this outrageous. They also stated that they would listen to the call with the previous staff member who did the confirmation as a teaching opportunity. However, I felt dismissed, distracted, stressed, highly disrespected, and embarrassed in front of my guests throughout the experience.
My mother, wife, and I just wanted our kids to have a great birthday since this was the first one they ever had outside of the home, and my five-year-old requested it be at this place. However, they left us with bad memories and headaches. Oh, and $500 bill for the party, which included the terrible pizza we ordered—two cheese, veggie, buffalo chicken, and meat. We could further appreciate the items we brought because the guest did not touch that pizza and would've been hungry.
Thanks for the lasting experience, CatchAir. It makes me wonder why different guests have different experiences here. 🤔We will definitely check out Boomerang, Andretti, or Ready, Set, Fun in the future because my family...
Read moreI read some worrisome reviews here about cleanliness, service, and other things. We went there today with our 2 year old expecting to scope out the place and leave if we hated it.
Boy, were we pleasantly surprised. It's very clean, and this place exceeded our expectations. This means a lot coming from my paranoid self. There were even stations with hand sanitizer which I sincerely appreciated.
The staff members were polite and fulfilled their roles well. I experienced some pricing confusion based on information on the website which I misread. I tried to clarify this and was told "everything is on the flyers; look it up". No extra smiles or effort, but I didn't come here to be waited on.
Be ready to buy snacks unless you can get your kid to cooperate to go out to the car and come back. You can't bring your own food and drink inside, but they have some on sale. Bring your own socks; theirs are $2.95. Though, I must say they are good quality, and I'll be using them when coming back here.
WARNING: Here is my one and only complaint and caution to parents - PLEASE stay with your little if they are 4 or under. The section which is specifically labeled for this age group has no barrier to prevent large older children from entering it and wreaking utter havoc. If your little isn't with you, they risk getting hurt because these kids are out of control; their parental supervision is either at another establishment or sitting on a bench and scrolling through FB.
If I was not supervising my baby, she would have gotten kicked, pushed, and trampled. These kids were climbing the toddler slide and shoving babies out of their way. One child would have pushed mine completely off a climber onto the floor if I hadn't been there to catch her. No staff in sight to control this. No control about these children entering. Zero parental accountability.
To the manager of this establishment: This is your one weakness here. PLEASE set up a barrier and keep these older children OUT. Otherwise, what is the point in having an area dedicated to this age? Kids 5 and above have the rest of the playground to themselves. This is a big safety risk (I get it, you're safe behind the waivers we sign, but please find it in your heart to care).
This is the only reason I cannot give this...
