Chylacas used to be our favorite restaurant. We dined there often and we’re very pleased. It no longer is, nor will we be doing business with them. Out of the last three times we had Chylacas, the first was a rude server and the food quality was horrendous. The next was an order to go. They forgot most of our order and the portions were very small. They were busy so we overlooked it hey, nobody’s perfect Tonight was the last straw, we ordered our meal once again for carry out. I asked the server if it was all there going over the order. Yes, yes he said it’s all there. My bad for not untying the bag to check. Getting our order home only to find out it was NOT all there! Called and said I’d return to pick up the rest of our order. Not only did I get our missing items but as a bonus I received rudeness, the server even said I was the one making the problem when I asked if we’d get a credit like I was told over the phone. Excuse me?! I just wanted to get what I paid for! Get home and opened the container with my meal.. it was so small! Not even close to being what we paid for! Chylacas had lost our business for good! Plenty of other fine Mexican restaurants...
Read moreBefore placing our normal "To Go" order, I was working with the young lady at the counter on pricing and was told adding raw onions as a topping on cheese enchiladas would be an extra $1.99 per each enchilada. I did repeat it back to her, questioning, you mean $1.99 EACH which would be a total of $6 extra per plate of 3 cheese enchiladas and she did confirm this pricing.
I did have the conversation about, these are cheese enchiladas and not beef or chicken, just cheese with added onions. She condescendingly stated that I did not have the choice to assign my value on an item on the menu, that it was their choice to assign value. Cheese can be equal to chicken or beef, that it was not my choice. I explained to her that $6 extra per plate was very expensive and in having this conversation, I was trying to understand the pricing.
We're disappointed to see this level of added cost. I do understand that you may be required to pay extra for additional toppings, but $1.99 x 3 for raw onions sprinkled on each enchilada on a single plate is extremely steep. We chose to eat elsewhere that evening. This was one of our favorite locations for...
Read moreI've been coming here with my family since I was a kid, way before it was chylacas and it was another Mexican restaurant that got bought out. The food originally always had been great and service was usually what you'd expect. It's not entirely their fault but a 12 dollar meal is now 19. And the service has just slowly gone down hill over a short period of time. You get eye rolls now, hang ups on the phone cause they can't be bothered. Staples in the food a few times. And orders coming out more often than not with nothing on it you requested. For example I've ordered jalapenos on a meal that's my favorite and I have not once in two years actually gotten them on my meal without having to get my meal and then mention to the waitress that it's missing. This is just my personal experience I'm not out to trash them saying they're horrible and the worst , just that it's not good either. And it just keeps getting worse and worse...
