Overall pretty normal southern cuisine restaurant, your usual South of the Dixie line staple menu items i.e. fried chicken, gravy , collards, mac n cheese, meat loaf, burgers, fried taters....I ordered the chicken fried something and it looked like it should with normal extras on the plate. During ordering our waitress came up did not identify herself and was only at the table for about 10 seconds before she had to go run and do something else and then it was probably a good 5 to 10 minutes before we got our drinks that we had to get from another hostess because our waitress was overwhelmed and busy with other customers. I am definitely not throwing her underneath the bus because I believe she was in probably the first week maybe second week of her job as there were other wait staff and table Busters being trained a different sections of the restaurant so they must have had some recent turnover or something because the three waitresses were kind of walking around like it was their first day there. I would like to also include that there were what looked to be three adult males watching over the floor look like more than likely a owner maybe a manager and maybe a shift manager all standing watching while all of this was unfolding in my opinion with that kind of management on the floor at 6:30 p.m. at night you would think nobody would be overwhelmed as the Hands-On training would be at an exceptional level due to the management on the floor. However. They were just observing i guess. Both of us had ordered an entree and one of the sides being a salad we sat there until our meals were brought to us we both then asked the waitress where our salads were and she informed us that the salad was self-serve and we were to get our own plates and silverware. I live in this area I'm 48 years old and that was my first Adventure Into The Farmhouse Restaurant that I have always wanted to go but the timing never worked out until the other day and I was sadly to say really looking forward to the menu because they do have some exceptional exotic meats like alligator and quail but I was not...
Read moreATTENTION: THEY ARE RACIST!!!! Before I start, I’ve never played the race card till this moment and that’s because I’ve never had anyone be so openly racist towards me till this moment. I’m from Michigan, we don’t play those games!! So anyways, stopped in with my (white) fiancé for some pie. This place is right off one of the first exits when you are exiting Florida and there’s gas stations and some fast food joints off of the exit as well, so we thought it would be fine, boy were we wrong. The old guy hosting rolled his eyes at me when I said two people for inside dining. The old lady who was serving us was sizing me up and glaring at me when she walked up to the table. She literally BARKED at me asking me how I wanted my pie and then would only look at my fiancé. She came back with the pies and literally threw them on to the table to where the plates slid half way across. Pies were disgusting might I add!! You can literally buy a better pie from a store. A younger server sarcastically asked our server how she was doing and our server replied “very bad”. I made a comment about it and she brought us our bill (still not looking at me) and only talked to my fiancé about how “pie is quick to eat so she figured we would leave soon”. Even the customers were racist and staring at us weirdly the whole time. The table that was sitting behind us kept looking at us and shaking their heads. My fiancé is a very muscular dude and can hold his own, but he told me to hurry and eat so we could leave because he was worried about me getting LYNCHED!!!! Seriously do not come to this backwater place that thinks it’s the 1800’s!!! Never in my life have I been treated like this. It was disgusting. I will add that the old lady serving us still got a 20% tip because we are not like her. Shame on all of you, maybe don’t be in the customer service business if you can’t handle dealing with people that are another color than you. It’s funny because I’m not the only person that’s written a bad review on their open racism..clearly they do this quite often to people that are not the...
Read moreVery friendly employees, very clean restaurant with a great atmosphere, but we just didn’t like the food. When we made our order we were brought very cute, delicious corn muffins, but that’s about where the enjoyable experience ends as far as food is concerned. I ordered a pork chop, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes and my partner ordered pulled pork, fried okra and French fries, and we both got sweet teas. The sweet tea was okay, it was consumable. The second our plates arrived it was an overwhelming stench, not really like anything I’ve smelled before but very greasy and unpleasant smelling. My porkchop looked absolutely horrific and was swimming in grease, I mean bathing in it. The max and cheese looked like a cheap stouffers and the mashed potatoes clumped out into one thick and weird textured pile when I moved it. My partners French fries were also swimming in grease, as well as the okra, and the pulled pork looked like canned dog food in gravy. The okra was what my partner ate the most of, we only really even tried anything because we hadn’t eaten a meal in 3 days being on the road and dealing with unexpected situations. We were originally very excited for this restaurant but ultimately left disappointed. We gave it a valiant effort and tasted everything in our plates, 2-3 bites each, before we just decided we weren’t hungry anymore and asked for a to go box. We paid for our meal and left pleasantly, but the entrees were just unappetizing to the look and smell, and didn’t taste good either. We paid and tipped, but we only took the food in to go containers to be polite because our plates were still slap full, it looked like we barely touched it except to taste it but our waitress didn’t seem to notice. We just spent $30 on food that we didn’t eat, but at least it was...
