Waffle House — Restaurant in Georgia

Being from New England we don't have any Waffle Houses here so heading south to Florida each summer we make it a point to stop at atleast two Waffle Houses along the way and this one in Savannah has been our go location for the past 4 years. It is conveniently located directly off of 95 and among tons of hotels, shops, gas stations and other restaurants. The staff here are one of my favorite. I mean all Waffle House associates are pretty personable and welcoming but here they truly make you feel right at home. They do not discriminate against tourists. Tourist or locals are all the same here and trust me that is not the case in many places you'd think embrace tourists. Their resturant is small but cozy. It is also extremely busy during breakfast and brunch hours but I never waited long to be seated. Even if you're in a large group they can accommodate you easily. It is a family friend place with great atmosphere and vibes. Their food is top notch comfort food and the prices are more than reasonable, especially for how much food you get. The plates are more than shareable. Of course I recommend their waffles which can feed a small army due to the sheer size alone but my absolute favorite is their Texas Patti Melt and hash browns. Just thinking of them (and I had it twice last week on my way home from vacation) I am already wanting it now. Summer 2020 cant come soon enough! The resturant is quaint and can use a bit of tidying up better but they are hustling and bustling around and I feel the way it looks gives it more of its charm. Thoroughly believe any tourist passing through this Savannah location should definitely go for breakfast, brunch, or lunch here. You won't be disappointed with their hearty, home cooked kind of feel food...

I have on numerous occasions tried to order food. Travis is the store manager. But every time I go by. They are closed. I have always tipped the tab to take care of those who serve me. Trissee has always taken care of me. Tonight though was the nail in the coffin. I was told the store wouldnt be open again for an hour and a half. No problem employees need a break. I was willing to wait. Yet the managers of the night made it a point to make sure I wouldn't be served. Went beyond and even the police there were like why?? Tonight i was trying to have patience and was told i wouldn't be served sadly. This is horrible. I just wanted breakfast. It's almost like they don't want the business. I know Travis tries to have excellent service but his employees are counter productive. They will push others away at all costs. Tonight it was two ladies obese that would not attempt any service no matter who tried. Even jincy a server tried to service me but these two were adamant that they are not to service me. Sadly as much as I want to eat here they will not Garner my business this was the last straw. I tried to be patience but they care not for anything to give service. I will not return. I will tell others at my military unit to not stop here.i think this is exactly what they wanted. Well you win.
