My wife & I always stop at Krispy Kreme once a year on our way to our anniversary vacation in Helen, Ga. This was our first time at this location. Their selection was lacking & we got half a dozen variety pack & a frozen coffee. The coffees were super small & so over flavored, you couldn't taste the coffee & were almost sickeningly sweet. The employee who served us was pretty rude & acted like it was a chore to serve us. Maybe she was having a bad day. We ate a doughnut while we were there & were not impressed. We saved the leftover 4 for our hotel stay & split a cinnamon apple filled one & it became a game between my wife & I to see who could find the filling. After 4 or 5 bites, there was still no filling! The last bite was literally the only bite of filling in the whole doughnut. Will not be visiting or recommending this location...
Read moreNever fails, whenever I go in regardless of the HOT sign being on, I GET COLD DONUTS from some rack way behind the counter ! This is especially true if there is younger people running the store. I have walked in and everyone was too busy on their phones, so I walked out a few times over the years.
I usually just wait and get donuts whenever I go on to Athens because I love KK and get hot ones along with the filled having more filling than a squirt in the filling hole to make it look full. It's nothing personal against this store or anything like that because I used to like going here. I understand they need to get rid of old donuts but get tired of all of them being dumped on me whenever I'm in the area. I offer my opinion so you might improve, I want to come back in...
Read moreI guess this would be the COVID review. As do others, I often stop through on a Friday afternoon on my way to the mtns to grab donuts for my husband. Still friendly, but I was shocked to discover the employees not wearing masks. Two weeks in a row. The first visit, I was so startled, I just threw away my order. The next week, when I looked in the order window and saw the man not wearing a mask, I just drove off. Today, I called to ask a manager. I even explained that while Commerce may have a low infection rate, that people visit there from all over. Including me. She informed me that masks were optional for employees. So, I guess no donuts for us until the pandemic...
