My family and I visited Atlanta this weekend and had been waiting months to come back to this restaurant. We loved the food! But service was HORRIBLE !! Not sure what her name was but on the receipt it says “RUBY” well I never leave bad reviews always only good ones but this server deserves one. Well when she came up she did not introduce herself. She started with “what can I get you guys to drink” when we finally ordered she brought the food out and said “enjoy” after eating neither my cousin or I had drinks left but when we looked for her she was over at the bar area on her phone so I got up with both of our cups and had to ask for a refill. After she brought it probably 20 minutes later we had already finished our food. Another lady came to ask us if everything was okay and we asked for the check. Well when the original server finally brought the check she brought it all together. I stated “oh it was separate” and she rudely responded “oh you didn’t tell me that.” Then I said “well you didn’t ask us, the other lady came and asked us if we needed anything.” It was not the other ladys job to continue to ask me further information only if we needed something. The server is supposed to come and ask if the check was separate. So anyways she ended up bringing them and to my surprise the tip was added. We were 4 people And the tip was added. That did not bother me only the fact that if they are going to add the tip make sure service is better or at least more attentive. After all my family and I enjoyed the food it was great !! Just the service can...
Read moreGreat food at very high prices served by pretty nice service staff, the downfall of the restaurant was there was definitely a preference for regular customers with newcomers being either ignored or not a priority, which is odd since they are right next door to two hotels. The staff, while friendly, were very slow. As a result, my wife and I both ordered the enchiladas and both came to us lukewarm and it took our waitress a solid 5+ minutes to swipe a damn debit card. Finally, there was the table of obnoxious drunk guys behind us. They were already annoying with their constant shouting and loud talking, but it gets worse. Apparently, the live music of the restaurant does private parties for tables. I kid you not, the drunks called over the band and the band set up their equipment, speakers, and instruments RIGHT BEHIND my wife and proceeded to play with all the force of a music festival. Conversation, impossible. Coherent thinking, gone. Eardrums, close to bursting. Simply horrible. The manager or shift lead or whoever was in charge should have told them to stop as it was clear the band was making everyone nearby who wasn't the drunks miserable. Even the table celebrating a birthday looked unimpressed. We should have just gone...
Read moreIn one of the most iconic lines in movies, Forrest Gump once said that life was like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. Well such is the same with Mexican restaurants. I myself get kind of wary when I go to a Mexican restaurant I've never been to before. My wife and I decided to try Las Islitas, which bills itself as a Mexican Seafood Bar and Grill. Going inside, the first thing you'll notice is the decor. Lots of color without being too over-the-top. I must say that we were pleasantly surprised by the food. I ordered the shrimp taco dinner. I have to say that they were some of the best I've ever had. Very filling, the shrimp was cooked perfectly and the rice that went with it, well let me say I could have eaten a big bowl full of that by itself, there was just something about it. There's also a little salad that comes with it. To me it was kind of an afterthought. For the ones who don't frequent these kinds of establishments too much, you may need the waitresses help to go over it but I will tell you the time that you spend will be rewarded buy some very very delicious food....
