I had forgotten to post a review back from Nov 2024. My husband and I went out on his birthday to eat here. We are new to Cumming, GA. There was a total of 3 tables at dinner time on a Wednesday night here...but now I see why. The staff was so rude as soon as we walked in. A few blonde haired waitresses or hostesses they were young women I'd say either between 18-21 yrs old. These young women were so mocking and rude. My husband and I used to go to Outback countless times over many years before moving here from South Florida. That was our place to go..until now. Whoever manages this restaurant needs to be doing a better job with managing their staff. My husband and I worked in the restaurant industry for over 25 years back from the 1970's on up to the early 2000's. We worked back of the house to front of the house. Personally opened and managed an Olive Garden, to opening an Ale House restaurant to name a few. Started in this business from being a bus girl at the age of 13 and working my way up to opening up restaurants and managing them. I blame the owners for dropping the ball with not getting on their management to oversee the staff in this restaurant. This restaurant is not being run properly. I can see now why that when my husband and I had passed another steakhouse in Cumming not far from Outback that same night and time that this steakhouse restaurant was jammed packed with business. People waiting, cars overflowed in their parking lot, the place was booming. We pull up to Outback a well known restaurant and only a few vehicles outside and only 2 tables were going when we got there. The South FL Outback in a city very much like Cumming were always busy even on a Monday night. I don't usually complain because being in the restaurant business can be tough at times so I'm usually very lenient but from what we experienced turned us off so badly. Usually we'll give a few chances before never returning to a restaurant again. I wish I got the names of all the rude and mocking staff. As for the food my burger was supposed to be med rare and was well done. That didn't bother me as much as the horribly rude staff. I'm a very nice person and treat people the way I'd like to be treated. They were mean to me because of my appearance, giggling and laughing as they walked by the table while my husband and I were looking at our menus. They ruined a happy occasion for us. Just a heads up if you are not even that much overweight and aren't the most attractive of person beware of these unprofessional young women that may still work there. I blame the manager for not being around by doing their job that night by overseeing their staff. Makes sense that this was the only big name restaurant in the area that wasn't busy compared to the other restaurants in the area that were hopping busy. Their food isn't cooked properly and very bland. You are allowing your restaurant to be run by immature unprofessional young adults. If you don't act now your restaurant will go under. I do hope corporate ends up seeing this review and does something about the management before this Outback runs out of business completely. My husband and I will be going to Longhorn Steakhouse from now on. Please I don't want some robotic same old apology that you give many of your customers through here that have had an unpleasant experience in your...
Read moreMy mom and I were here tonight to celebrate my birthday. The service left something to be desired and the quality of the food-particularly my mom’s steak had a ton of fatty veins (it was a filet). We both ordered filets and they were both very thin and didn’t look like ‘normal’ filets we’ve had at other restaurants or even from the local grocery store and prepared at home. She left more then half uneaten on her plate. You would think for the price, someone would have asked if there was something wrong with it or something? Nope! We requested a to go box for our blooming onion and I get not wanting to spread germs and all, but it would have been nice if he’d offered to package it for us. Also, no to go sauce until I asked for it and when he brought it to the table, he practically threw it on the table/in the box! Our server was very curt, borderline rude, and not engaged at all. Maybe he was having a bad night, but that’s not my fault. He acted entitled or as if he didn’t have to be personable at all. I’m not sorry…we don’t go out to eat that often anymore because prices are insane these days. So, when we do…be nice for crying out loud! He really didn’t even look at us. Heck, one of the food runners was more engaging bringing out our meals then our server was the whole time! Thank goodness for him! I was very close to asking for a manager on the way out, but didn’t want to detract from my birthday celebrating/evening. I’ve/we’ve never had a bad experience here before, but it really has me doubting...
Read moreThe steak hit the spot! Cooks did a terrific job cooking the steak to a perfectly ordered medium rare. The atmosphere is a chain atmosphere. Relaxing yet still on the high class scale. The Service did a great job taking the drinks orders. The bar was super slow at getting the drink orders completed. The food came out perfect as ordered. My issue was with the server at the end. He dropped the check when I was only half way done with my meal. When I hid the check to my side to finish my dinner, he was clearing the table behind us and asked if he dropped our check off. I get the freaking hit ding dong. When I finished my meal and put my card in, he came by and grabbed it within 20 seconds of me setting it down as he must have been waiting and watching. Then he brought it back in 1 minute, I signed the bill and put it down on the table. Within 20 seconds he came and grabbed it and said " Thanks".......That is horrible service on the tail end. I would speak with your servers about the proper way to deliver a check. I do not care if he had a hot date waiting. This kinda makes me want to steer clear of this place, if that is the kick out of the door you get because a server...
