From the parking lot and back, this was a top-notch experience. We came into the area to visit the sunflower farm, and upon departing we asked the owners where they would go for lunch. They told us about Señor Fiesta.
Now, I am always a little skeptical when it comes to Mexican restaurants since they are my favorite, and I make a point to visit them wherever I go—unless I’m not in the mood to gamble. But this day I said, “what the heck—it’s been a marvelous day so far, so let’s give it a go.” With my high standards and moderate expectations in tow, we headed to the restaurant.
Parking was a breeze. Upon entering, we were met with the smiling face of a young man who greeted us with gracious hospitality and ushered us straight to our table. Not long after, our server Juan approached. He was equally gracious and hospitable. He asked what we would like to drink and if we’d like to start with cheese dip or guacamole. We chose the chunky guacamole, which did not disappoint.
The appetizer showed up in a flash—fresh, chunky, and delicious. While we enjoyed it, Juan patiently guided us through the menu. He didn’t miss a beat as I peppered him with questions before finally making my decision. Mom went with her old stand-by, the lunch chimichanga. I don’t remember exactly what my sister ordered, but I went for the street tacos.
The chips and salsa were exactly the way I like them—warm, crisp (not stale), and paired with salsa that was flavorful with just a hint of heat. It wasn’t long before Mom’s lunch and mine arrived, piping hot. My sister’s took a little longer, but it was worth the wait.
Juan stopped by at just the right times—offering more chips, dropping off extra napkins without being asked, and always checking in with genuine care. My lunch was fantastic. The rice was full of flavor, tender, and clearly fresh. And those street tacos? Out of this world. Honestly, this was one of the best, if not the best, Mexican lunches I’ve ever had.
Just when I thought the experience couldn’t get better, the hostess surprised us with a complimentary dessert in honor of our first visit. The churros—well, what can I say without sounding like this is a paid endorsement? Fantastic.
Juan was the best, and we will ask for him any time we come. Despite the 40-minute drive, I have a feeling we’ll be back soon.
I wish I had take more pictures but I was so caught up in the delightful experience I forgot...
Read moreLet me preface this review by saying that I've been going here for over 5 years and it was one of the best restaurants in town. I've eaten here probably over 100 times and the service and food are usually top notch.
Went in at around 4:30 P.M. on 8/8/2025 to sit at the bar and have some great Mexican food and a cold beer after work. Ordered a 32 oz mich ult and the first glass that was poured had floating red specs in it. Usually i let it slide so I asked for a spoon to fish the unidentified floating objects out of my beer. I was not provided a spoon for over 5 minutes. Eventually a gentleman named ANGEL came up and asked how it was going because he noticed i wasn't drinking my beer. I explained to him that there was floating bits in my beer and he asked if I wanted another one. I hesitated but said yes because I don't want floating unidentified objects in my beer. Pours the beer out (broke my heart to waste good beer) and grabs another mug and pours another 32 oz. It also had floating red stuff in it and a red object at the bottom of the glass as well. I complain about it and ANGEL attempts to fish the floating object out with a straw that had paper around it. So now my beer has floating red stuff and an unopen straw dipped in it. I tell him don't bother because I just wanted a cold beer after A hard days work and I was tired of complaining. Ordered the Chimi Azteca as well and when it came out the very first bite had inedible gristle in it that I had to spit out into a napkin because it was not palatable. Once again ANGEL comes up to me and asks how it going. I explain to him that I no longer want the dish and I'll pay for the beer in get out of his hair (only had one bite of the dish). He essentially tells me in so many words to just get out of his restaurant and don't bother paying. On the way out I was heckled by the staff and told to just got to McDonalds. This was easily the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. I never thought I'd say that about a place I’ve supported for so many years. I hope this was a one-off, but based on how I was treated, I won’t be going back and I hope others don’t have to go through the same thing. I normally don’t write reviews like this, but after this experience and being treated that way as I left, I felt it needed...
Read more1st off let me start with the positives about this restaurant:
The positive: I was seated right away and was very please with my seating arangement. I thoroughly enjoyed the salsa because nowadays most Mexican restaurants puree the snot out of sauce to where you cannot even tell what you're eating, but this restaurant had nice big chunks of onions and cilantro that you could see. I ordered the Acapulco and it was extremely delicious. Huge selection on the menu to choose from! BEST "FLAN" I'VE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE! Excellent pricing.
Now the negative: I understand the restaurant was crowded, which is understandable at 5 o'clock in the evening, but it took my food over 30 minutes to get to me, and if you know anything about prep cooking for any restaurant most of the food is already prepared and just has to be assembled and so 30+ minutes is unacceptable. The pico de Gio that came with my meal should have been thrown out at least 2 days prior because the tomatoes have a distinct taste of being over aged and should have been thrown out. It was extremely noisy to the point that if you had a dinner mate it probably would have been very difficult to have understood each other.
9/9/2018 - second visit:
Love the food, but holy s* guys no improvement on the service. I asked for containers to take my leftovers in and 10 mins later nothing so I flagged another waiter and told her what I needed & told her I needed one aluminum container and she looked at me blankly and said they don't have those (are you f* kidding me I had take out flan two weeks prior.... wake the f*** up b*) she then told me she would have to ask if they had something like that.... seriously go back to kindergarten little girl. I finally just had to say something to the manager. Hire competent staff & train them better. I own two businesses & only hire competent people. You are who you surround...
