SUDO BAR & GRILL (CONYERS) — Restaurant in Conyers

I am beyond upset with the way my sister and myself were treated last night. If I could give this place no stars I would. I have been coming to this establishment for years and have spent a great deal of money here. I have had multiple birthday parties here and I have never been treated so poorly at a business.

This used to be one of my favorite spots to go out and have some fun. Over the years the establishment has gone down and not near as good as it once was. We continued to go and support because it is local and black owned.

Last night when we went, we were 1st charged twenty dollars each. Which we have never paid before, the normal fee is ten dollars each. This should have been a sign to leave at that time. We proceeded to go in. We just wanted to enjoy ourselves and have one or two drinks. The waitress comes to our table to take our order. She wasn’t friendly and seemed stress. She brings out our drink, just puts it on the table. She didn’t come back to our table to ask how our drinks tasted. She later comes back once we have almost completed our drinks to see if we wanted another because the bar was getting ready to close.

She asked if we were okay with not having ice to avoid the drink getting watered down, we both agreed because we had ice in our current drinks. The drinks were bought to the table in a small clear cup, the drink was not even 1/2 full. It looked nothing like the current drink that we had. We expressed immediately and told the waitress we were unhappy with the second drink. The waitress said she would need to speak with her manager.

This man comes over with major attitude and doesn’t try to resolve the issue. He didn’t offer another drink, he just insisted that we were going to pay for the second round of drinks. My sister and I were completely willing to pay for the drinks we ordered and were happy with, but not the second set of drinks.

The manager then goes to get a cop that threatens us to pay the bill or see what else would happened. We have not ever been in this type of situation before. I was appalled. There was no resolve on the issue. Not only did we pay the bill but they also include a 15% service fee. We will be dealing with the bank to take actions.

It is very sad that after all of these years there was no resolve. I will never go back and support this establishment. The fact that we were threatened by a cop in today’s climate is absolutely insane. With the way the economy is, it is very sad that businesses do not care anything about the consumer and or our satisfaction. I am deeply...

Ordered wings and steak tacos on Taco Tuesday... there was MOLD on the cheese and the wings were greasy. On our way out we looked at the Health Inspection grade and it was a low B (80). Had I seen that when we first arrived we would have did an about face. The bar manager was nice, apologized and took the tacos off the bill. We may give them another chance in the future solely because of the positive way the manager handled the situation.

UPDATE 12/10/24 Sooooo, I tried to be diplomatic and nice about the whole situation on my review but since the "Management" wants to reply with LIES I'll update my initial post with more facts.

The 99 score that you mention was earned YESTERDAY at 2:30PM... Congratulations. However, when my husband and I came to your establishment last Tuesday 12/3 the score that was posted by the entrance was CLEARLY 80.

At no point did anyone from this establishment suggest that the MOLD on the cheese was a "starch"... that is an out right LIE! What the employee did suggest was that maybe it was parmesean cheese stuck to the yellow cheese- which is even MORE ridiculous than your depiction of it being cellulose that keeps it from sticking together😏

I told her that as a professional with a public health background who has conducted health inspections before I have a different opinion on the matter and that is MOLD from cheese not being kept at the proper temperature or being kept past it's expiration date.

How ironic is it that you've actually been out of compliance for the exact same issue earlier this year?? Repeat Violations & scores of 72 and 82 before this 80 Hmmmm ...

I will not be back. BUT SINCE YOU WANT TO LIE... WHAT I WILL DO is edit my post to include the proof of your health inspection grade of B with a score of 80... which is what you actually when I visited 7 days ago up until your inspection that took place on yesterday!

Perhaps I will also take the time to reach out to Inspector Smith as well to see what he thinks about your definition of STARCH along with your MOLD laced cheese.

And one last thing... it's mighty bold of you to think that these were the only photos that I took or that I have. They are not magnified... they are with flash and without flash. You are lucky I didn't post the ones that showed the condition of the diced tomatoes as well... I was trying to be nice and just stick to the cheese issue. But since you want to go there... Went here for a late night walk thru & a drink. $10 each just to get in. A huge portion of the tables were taken by a bday party that didnt even use all of the reserved seating. Luckily we were able to find a spot at the end of the bar. Two guys that worked there refused to move the ribbon over just a smidge so that we could get up on the bar stools comfortably. If it's a tripping hazard, a thinking person would attach the connector to the bar wall. Which would eliminate the need for one of the bulky floor bases. I guess nobody THINKS here. The waitress was cool. It got pretty busy & she remained attentive. Before we knew it the place was packed. People had squeezed directly beside & behind us. There was no personal space! Now I couldn't bounce to the beat without bumping into someone's leg or shoulder. The music was a good mix. I enjoyed the videos on the big screen. A girl who came after us ordered a hookah. I didn't mind the smell. What I didn't like, was the smoke from her mouth inevitably drifting into my face while I trying to eat. We ordered a 20 PC jerk wings & fries. All the kitchen did was fry some plain chicken & sprinkle some seasoning on top. They didn't use the paste to actually create a sauce. So the meat was completely dry. We could barely taste any flavor other than salt. There was no spice & no heat. These were NOT jerk wings! When we said something, they took it away, we thought to fix it. They just dropped the same batch back into the oil again, & brought it back out with another light sprinkle of dust. Now the food was burnt crisp & still unsatisfying. Then security came over to tell us we had to scoot closer to the bar because the folks gathered in back of us were blocking the walkway. It's not our problem that they admitted over capacity & a slew of patrons had no place to sit to better enjoy themselves. After that we were ready for the check. This place is too hood...
