1st I apologize for the lengthy review but i seriously feel you all need to know. I also uploaded videos on Yelp. I’ve said many times no one should ever belittle you by your gender, skin color, race, religion or what political party you support and Oh yeah that all went out the door on the day after of the 2024 election it was later that evening on November 6th. I was racially profiled, disrespectfully treated and left feeling violated because both my husband that is also a brewery university member since 2010 and I told the waitress:Penelope , we were tired due to staying up late to watch election, as my husband explained he wanted us to stay up in hopes that our vote counts and I proceeded to tell the waitress we chose this Taco Mac location in West Cobb, Marietta, Georgia off Dallas Highway, because it was the same Taco Mac our daughter worked at in 2020 and is why we chose this location to do a little toast to a hopeful better 2025 that things were gonna be better after this whole year of 2024 of my husband being in and out of the hospital with various things that had happened and wanted to just get a light beers 🍻 and as proven on the receipt: we only asked for 2 waters, ordered some chicken tenders is my husband’s favorite and TacoMac’s tater tots are yummy and after we both asked her if she’s going to ask for our ID’s , we both showed her then my husband also gave her his brewery university member card. After some time we were wondering why the waitress never came back to our table to give back and not even to give my husband back his brewery university card , then a man came over to say he is the kitchen manager nam: Ajani and seemed to have a speech impairment and without any professional assistance, he falsely accused me of being intoxicated and that he cannot serve me alcohol but he can serve my husband and we were like OK and my husband asked for his brewery university card back and our check that shows on our receipt was only $13.77 was for chicken tenders, tater tots with 2 waters and again my husband asked for his brewery University card so we can pay and go home ? Then after waiting for some time another man came over to our table and said he’s a store manager name:Callan and proceeded to say that he was there to also tell me I’m intoxicated and cannot serve me any alcohol and we said that’s okay we are tired and my husband continued to ask for his brewery university card back, the check for him to pay so we can go home and the whole time this was going on No law enforcement officials were called to assist and after several more minutes passed I asked another waitress to please check our check so we can pay, then that same manager named:Callan finally handed my husband his brewery university card at the same time said: Oh Wow you all have been brewery university members for a longtime and also handed Dale the check for him to pay and as we were getting ready to leave, I looked at my husband and said that with them falsely accusing me of being intoxicated and without any evidence, I said that I felt that they were targeting me and without any evidence I still felt that they were going to follow me out to my vehicle of you will see in the videos captured by my iPhone they followed me out to our truck and the manager named: Callan told me I needed to get out of the driver seat and without any evidence he said that I was intoxicated and he acting as if he call the Cobb Co. police on me and in one of my videos I captured on my iPhone, you’ll hear me asked my husband that most of everyone knows that he’s still recovering from all that has happened to him for all this horrible year 2024 and i did ask my husband to just drive so we can leave and that manager: Callan continued to harass me along with the other kitchen manager name:Ajani and food runner also followed me outside to my vehicle and in my video you can see he kept going on and on. I have it all “captured on video” and I did ask them to please call the police and I would be happy to take a breathalyzer to prove how very they were but no...
Read moreThe good part is they have an unbelievable and ever changing list of beers both on tap and in bottles/cans, and this is why we come here all the time. The bad is that the food and service are very inconsistent. The food is usually somewhat consistent, but the service can change depending on the server you get, how much turnover there has been recently, or the day you come. They have big TVs all around showing whatever sporting events are happening at the time. So if you are looking for a sports bar where you can get good beer, usually good wings and watch a game and not be in a big hurry, it's a pretty good place to go.
I hate to update with a worse review, but I have to be honest so people know what they are getting into. This place is really struggling. This was the first Taco Mac I ever went to, and I've stuck with them through their ups and downsand temporary closure, but I think I'm going to give it a break for a while.
Tonight was BAD! They shut down for a while around COVID, and i imagine they are close to that point again. We came in about 7:30 and were told it was a 20 minute wait, even though I could see lots of tables open. It was more like 30 minutes, and we finally got seated. There were a few open tables up front, but they took us to the back room, and there were literally two thirds of the table open back there. Waitress was fairly decent time to take drink orders, bring drinks, and take food orders, but it was a steep decline from there. It was loud, so I'll give a little slack, but they brought my wife sweet tea instead of unsweet we ordered. I slowly drank my 20 oz beer and kept waiting for the waitress to come back so we could correct the tea. Finally, when I finished my beer and waited a couple more minutes, I took my empty glass and the sweet tea to the bar and got myself another beer and my wife an unsweet tea. Food was actually slightly better than normal, but we were about halfway through, and the waitress came and asked if we were ready for the check. This was 90 minutes in, so I just asked for a box and the check. Overall, dinner was two hours for dinner and two beers.
I think we'll be driving over to Chastain for a while if we want Taco Mac. I want to sort them, but...
Read more9 times out of 10, we come here for a convenient, fairly quick sit-down meal and leave satisfied. My wife and I have come to this location (Dallas Hwy, Marietta) about once a month (on average) for the past 3 years. Service and wait time has always been a little hit-or-miss. But lately, food taste and consistency has been going down. They cut their menu, but the food got worse.
Tonight we went, they were not busy, but we were seated at the back of the restaurant. Our poor waitress seemed to be trying, but disappeared far too often and for too long. We usually enjoy their Guac, but it was completely flavorless, even after some added salt. The biggest draw here is the extensive beer selection, but the "just arrived" beer was gone. Our food was was delivered luke-warm. The usually sour-cream-y "ranch" sauce, after 3 tries, was just sour cream and chives.
I hate to base my entire review on one bad experience, but it has been going downhill for a while now. Tonight was an EPIC fail. Even after politely complaining and being assured the manager would be alerted to the problems, we never saw anyone but our waitress. She did her best, but unfortunately, I can no longer suggest this location for good food, good service, or a good time.
And... to break the camel's back; I suppose because of the recent change in Georgia's Concealed (weapons) Carry laws, they decided to post notice to customers that no guns were welcome. As a policy, I understand, but to just post it on the hostess stand is insulting. What that sign really means to me, along with the other problems I've personally experienced at this location, might as well be a neon sign saying "Under New [Mis-]Management"
I really hope that this place can turn it around, but I doubt it will...
