Waffle House — Restaurant in Georgia

Though it's never pre-planned, I somehow always end up at Waffle House on Thanksgiving or Christmas. This year, it was Christmas night. I initially went to another place because I wanted some wings, but of course, they weren't open, and right then is when it dawned upon me that Waffle House is always open!

I hit that Google Maps and found one .2 miles away (always a Waffle House within reach)! I sat at the high bar (my favorite place to sit in WH because I'm just fascinated at how the kitchen runs) and ordered my usual chicken and eggs, and it did not disappoint. I used to order a triple scrambled w/cheese, but this time, I didn't, and I didn't have enough eggs for my meal. The chicken was cooked perfectly.

I wish they'd find a better system to get the whole meal pit at the same time. I don't like that I get my plate with the eggs, hashbrowns, and toast first, and then the meat comes later. I want ONE meal all at the same time. And they do this with the waffles too, that's why I don't order waffles... and they're so good, but I hate getting my...

Be prepared to get turned away at any time of the day because they need to "clean the grill". We live close by and tonight makes twice that we've gone to grab dinner there and was turned away while they were open! It was prime dinner time at 8:30pm and as soon as we walked in the door we were told they weren't serving food for the next 45 min to an hour because they have to clean the grill. This is the only waffle house I've ever been to in 25+ years that supposedly closes to clean. What about all of the other food items or beverages that don't require the grill to prepare? It's an excuse for lazy workers to stand around and blast music without having to wait on people. I highly doubt mgmt & owners are...

Had my first Waffle House experience at this particular Waffle House! They gave me a special hat and played me a Waffle House song because it was my first time! This particular one has raised my standards up very high. It had the exact small town feeling that Waffle House is known for. The employees were so sweet and kind, we sat down and were helped promptly despite a lot of signs explaining that they are short-staffed. We got a fresh pot of coffee which is was great.
