For a while I have been wanting to balayage my hair, but have been very timid to do so. I Found Madison Tillery (@madisontilleryhair) on Instagram which is who i went to at fifth and Mae. I got a full balayage and showed Madison the pictures that I wanted. I understand Asian hair is harder to lift since it's thick, but Madison had told me that she could get my hair to lift really well like the photos since I have virgin hair. (Hair that hasn't been dyed before). I'm getting my hair washed in the bowl for a while now, and right when I'm about to get up and moved to the chair Madison tells me that the color is darker then what I had wanted. Her reasoning was because she didn't want me to walk out of the salon with orange hair, which of course I did not want either. Turns out she had to tone my hair 3 times and also used a conditioner treatment. (I had no idea any of this was happening) Also, she had been in a rush since her next client was here while I was still getting toner washed out of my hair. I finally get moved to the chair and just look in the mirror...my hair literally looks the exact same. In my head I'm just like don't cry because I had just wasted my money for my hair to look the exact same. I am in high school, have a a job and have been saving up to be able to dye my hair(my parents aren't paying for it, this is my own money that is being used) Madison got another stylist to help blowdry my hair and it was obvious that they were very rushed. She curled my hair and then took pictures since she had taken before and after pictures. She made me go into the light since in normal room lighting you can't even tell that I got my hair done. In natural lighting you can tell the slightest bit. I get up to the cashier $200 for my hair to look the exact same and that's without the tip. I know that she had to use a lot of product, but if my hair was unable to look like the pictures then I should have been told before doing the whole entire process. This took 3 hours which had been a waste of my time since my hair looks the exact same as when I walked in. Later my mom comes and I go to the car. She goes in asking Madison if she told me that she could get my hair to the pictures which madison responds "yes" and then "No" and then became all defensive. Madison then tells my mom how it's hard to lift my hair since it's very thick, and that "Carmel" or "honey" would look really good on me. Just upset I spent so much of my money for my hair to look the same. Would have rather her to tell me that these pictures weren't achievable and for me to go somewhere else. Will not be going back and wouldn't recommend. Look at the pictures my hair looks the exact same. Also no surprise, my before and after pictures were not posted on...
Read moreExtremely dissatisfied with my service. I spent $150 on a bleach and color service that began to fade in 7 days. When I left the salon the crown of my head was a slightly lighter shade than the other parts and my black hair was still visible around the nape of my neck and behind my ears. Unfortunately I didn’t notice it until ingot home and my husband mentioned it and I looked closer. I wasn’t too upset about the black hair because I could get it cut at the barber shop. The lighter crown was noticeable though. I didn’t make a big deal of it until day 7 when I noticed that my hair was fading. I was told that the color would fade to a light pink but it did not. Now at the 3 week mark my hair is 3 different shades of purple, gray, blue, and pale orange. I contacted the stylist and was told the correction would cost $80+. That was after she told me “I want you to love it and make it worth your time and money!” Overall this was a complete waste of my...
Read moreIf you aren’t aware of Reese, now you’re being told. I’ve been to plenty of hairstylists around Atlanta and Buford, each leaving me satisfactory results. I always felt like my hair was okay (after spending good money too) . But Reese here, she understands the assignment. And she’s gonna keep it real about what’s the best for your hair, no straw ends! I asked for a lavender balayage faded into black so that my natural hair can grow healthy (as I’m growing my hair out for the first time and health is huge for me). And I left with exactly that, and then some. She doesn’t just understand the assignment, she gets an 100. A+. 4.0. I left the salon a lilac Farrah Fawcett. She’s simply the best. Do yourself a favor and ask for her talent. (I don’t know how to post a photo on here but it’s on her Instagram! You’ll know which one I am, as I said she understood the assignment...
