Love Waffle House especially the one closer to my house (I ate there 3-4 times a week when on my Keto diet last year) but they closed at 9pm so I called this one to order online. The female that answered the phone told me they are not taking online orders at the moment because they were so busy, that Iâd have to come in (Iâve never heard this from my regular WH). I drive the 12 min to get there and there is only one table sat with ppl whoâs already ordered and were waiting for food . One group of 3 gentlemen whoâd gotten there just before me were just being seated. The cook was only preparing the one meal for the table of two ppl thatâd been waiting. And one gentleman was sitting sideways on a booth like he was waiting for a to go order perhaps. I came up to the counter, right next to a server, no greeting. Another walked by, she was going to clean a table. The other server took the order of the 3 gentleman while I waited. It took a while as I stood there about another 4 minutes. The other server just kept going back and forth never acknowledging me standing at the cash register to order. The one server finally completed the order for the three men then walked right past me again (literally arm length from me), still not acknowledging. She went to empty the coffee pot and make some more then went in the back room for something else. At this point I was trying to make eye contact with anyone that worked there (remember only 2 tables were there, one waiting on food, the other having just ordered). The cook completed the meal for the first table and took it over. That was all the orders he had at the time. This was now about 7-8 minutes after I walked in and stood there still without any acknowledgement. I finally spoke up and asked if there was someone that could take my order. No answer or acknowledgement again. I raised my voice a little more and asked the same. By this time the gentleman that was sitting presumably waiting for his to go order had come up to the counter next to me. At that point the server (only one handling any orders) said, âI need to take care of this gentleman firstâ. So apparently heâs been waiting longer than me to order his to-go order, and this âbusyâ restaurant with only two tables sat. So I said I didnât understand why they couldnât take my order on the phone as it was clearly not too busy to take a to-go order like I was told. And I stated that I now I have to order behind one table of three for sure (and most likely the other to-go order and possibly the ppl who had just ordered about 5-10 min before) since I couldnât order online. The other worker doing the random non-serving busy-work spoke up and said they canât take online orders during shift changes. I said Iâd never heard that before from my other Waffle House and that anyway I was told it was because it was too busy which it clearly wasnât. They just shrugged and the one finally took my order. The order was finally called in at 9:22 pm (30 minutes after I tried to place the call online and completed at 9:34). So what took only 4 minutes to make was not able to be ordered online because they were âtoo busyâ with what appears to be have been only one table having been seated and ordered when I arrived. Ironically while I was sitting here writing this review while waiting for my order, the place did get suddenly very busy with many tables taken. So it would have been much easier on them to taking my order online before it actually did get busy, as my order backed up others who now had come in when it really was busy. Just now the other gentleman whoâd ordered online came back with his order saying they forgot his toast. So while he waited in that he looked in his bag and then asked if they did a full hash brown order for him. The server replied yes. And he replied âOh, it seems a lot lighter on the hash browns than normalâ. I checked my order over, noting the overcooked bacon wrapped in tinfoil crumbling apart. Guess Iâll be having a side of bacon bits instead. Absolutely the worst WH experience Iâve ever had. Will...
Read moreI am very disappointed with my experience today at this Waffle House. I have come here several times during the night shift, and there have been some excellent workers. Today, I unfortunately did not have that same positive visit. My boyfriend and I had a server named Melanie. We were the only couple in the store. There was one other customer on his lonesome. As soon as we came in, Melanie eyed me down from top to bottom. I am wearing business attire, so I am not sure if it is my attire or her having a bad day. She came to our table and was extremely rude. She did not let my boyfriend finish a sentence of his order because she decided she was going to answer for him. They weren't busy at all, so I was concerned about her attitude. I can completely understand if she was blown out. However, the other customer was treated entirely different than my boyfriend and I were. She was all laughs and smiles. Our attitude towards her was just as gentle and nice as the other person's was. After taking our order, we did not see her at our table again except for giving us our check, which she rapidly slipped on our table and it rolled right onto the floor. The rest of our time there she was chatting with the other customer and talking on her cell phone. She did not refill.my drink at all, but instead stared me down while she was talking on her cell phone. When my boyfriend went to pay, she was over on her phone texting by the kitchen. When she came over, now talking on her cell phone again, she told my boyfriend to hold on while she finished her conversation. Once again, I love Waffle House, but this employee seemed to single us out and make the experience disappointing.
Update: Came back on 9/26 to give them more service. My boyfriend and I had styrofoam in our cups (water and Vanilla Coke), and there was a ROACH crawling up the chair...
Read moreExperience has changed recently. They are open more frequently now but the waitress (Angel?) gives everyone a half price discount which you might think is a good thing but the food quality dropped and the confusing bill might be costing me more in the end. After this happening many visits I started to wonder if this lady is scamming and I hear her complaining and whining to the cook about everything. She never writes your order down yet forgets many things to leave you begging for your waffle, jelly or meat later. You can hear her saying the same thing to 3-4 other customers. Young (nice) large black male cook just ignores her and does his thing. Previously older lady produced amazing meals for the correct price but don't see her around. The waffle house across the exit is in stark contrast being super professional with the two older black guys cooking and working. They are old school pros all the way on Peachtree pkwy. They also run that crew with military precision across from Academy. This one next to Dollar Tree isn't in the same universe. We went the other week and Angel gave our two parties one discount ticket with no understandable detail on it. Not even sure if I saved any money after tipping. I think my wife and I ended up paying for part of our other couple's meals in the confusion. Will be avoid them and making the U turn to reach the better location a mile away from now on. Waffle house has really gone down hill with the plan-demic. Even the menus...
