This place is absolutely magical! And they've made it with so much love! There's the coffee shop itself, with great coffee and food. I got a blueberry scone with a shot in the dark and it was all delicious. My coffee was awesome, very flavorful, complex, and strong. The guys who worked there were really nice. The dining area is cool, full of nice places to sit and shelves full of books and games. I came in the middle of a week day, so no surprise there wasn't a show going on, but still there were people hanging out.
Outdoors was the best, though. There is a great spacious area, shaded under tree cover, with a stage and plenty of seating for live shows, complete with a fire pit. It must be great in the evening or on the weekend with a band on. There is every type of seat you can imagine, from picnic tables to hammocks. I sat in a plastic adirondack chair, kicked back, and felt so at home. Robins and chipmunks came near. And then, as I explored, I got an even better surprise.
There was a freshly mown woodland path! It followed the stream and terminated in a beautiful little wild area. It branched and consisted of a series of little paths, a stand of kudzu brilliantly turned into a natural, intimate space. You could tell someone put a lot of work in and really made this place something special. They've really maxed out what can be done with the space. I went in for a cup of coffee and ended up with this sweet adventure! I didn't follow the path in the other direction, mostly because I want to have something to look forward to, as I will definitely be coming back. It's just a beautiful place. I can't believe all this is here and I...
Read moreI'm so disappointed with the service of a coffee barista Ian, when my guest & I walked into Waller's Ian rudely stated "If you're going to order a coffee you need to put on a mask! Initially when I walked in I was looking for mask for my guest, normally they are at the entrance? Needless to say I did find a mask for my guest. I've been in this coffee shop a few times before I've had friends & family come with me to help support the local business & it would have been nice to be greeted with a Hello thanks for coming in if you don't mind please grab a mask, secondly after ordering a coffee & sandwich costing $14.75 Ian put the sandwich on the counter not saying a word, my guest thanked him 3xs before he even replied a simple you're welcome. My guest lost his appetite & his desire to return to wallers coffee shop throwing away his sandwich & drink. I would like to suggest no matter the ethnicity of a guest please treat your customers all the same appreciation does...
Read moreI’ve been to Waller’s several times over the last month. Go check this place out and support this business. It feels like someone picked this place up out of Asheville, NC, and set it down in Decatur, GA.
There are very kind people working there. There are restaurant booths and WiFi for telecommuters or students.
The coffee and food are excellent. I went back and bought a bag of the coffee I drank there because I couldn’t stop thinking about it — and I am not a coffee expert!
There is an area full of kids toys. There is a stage for live music. Good amount of parking and bathrooms, for those who wonder about those things (I do, haha).
The outdoor space is awesome, a little bit like the Lake Claire preserve, with this cool secluded clearing with awesome climbing trees and a fire pit. They are putting in trails behind the property, too. There’s a creek back there. They have this event every other Sunday for kids to make art and hang out.
Such a treasure. Go!...
