El Porton Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Germantown

I have never in my life left a bad review and this experience was so bad it led me to do this. I work close by and pop in for lunch occasionally. The service is never good, I consistently have had to ask to put my drink order in, my food order in, and the check. The woman waitress specifically- has never given good service and has always had an attitude but because I'm right next door, its easy for me to go there on a 30 minute break and grab a small cheese dip and chips. Well today I went to get my normal cheese dip and chips and at the end of my visit- I stood up and went to the cash register and waited to pay- like always. The waiter told me he couldn’t accept card today and asked if I had cash. I never carry cash so I didn't have any. He asked who sat me at a table and didn't tell me that I had to pay with cash and it was the same lady that has never given me good service. She stood up and came to me and started yelling in my face about how I should've seen the sign on the door and how all their other customers have left because they saw the sign on the door. I said I was sorry and that she couldn't expect me to read a sign on the door bc there was multiple signs on the door. She continued yelling at me saying I should've seen the sign and what was wrong with my eyes that I couldn't see because everyone else could. I will never go back there for multiple reasons. There is a reason I only ever get cheese dip-their food isn't good. Go to LOS CABOS Mexican if you want a good experience and good food- I just don't have time with a thirty minute break...

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I have never gone to complain to a manager in my life but had to at this point. Unfortunately, it was the manager who was the problem. We waited for drinks for over an hour and never put in an order! When we were practically begging for drinks to be brought out, the waiter said, with an attitude,“ I will after I get silverware”.. as if we were an inconvenience to him. Mind you, it has already been 45 minutes since we sat down. At that time, my friend went to speak to the manager who in turn was extremely rude and said there was nothing she could do . Really?!? You're the manager! I went up to her to discuss the issue and she just blankly stared at me and then walked away to talk to someone else. She was absolutely disrespectful and did not care for her customers what so ever. Right before we walked out, another table over heard me and said they were glad I said something because they have been waiting for over an hour. That is outrageous! I would understand if they were busy but they had 2 small parties, a few 2 to 3 person tables by the bar, and one man sitting at the bar. My family owns a restaurant and we would have never treated someone in the manner that we were treated tonight. This lady needs to get it together. We will never go back...

This place was horrible. Firstly we(a table of 3) were the only people in there...dead business should have been our first clue.

Our waiter was controlling and rude... wouldn't give us an extra bowl of chip saying it'll be cold. We advised him we go to El Porton ALOT (just not this particular one) and always get two bowls because we eat them so fast...the waiter shook his head and said no It's going to be cold and walked away...

We gave him the benefit of the doubt but as the time went on the waiter was more rude and more pushy.

And the rude behavior increased after we paid. All in all not only did the waiter tell us what we did and didn't need but was rude and passive aggressive for no reason. We actually tried to laugh the rudeness off but it kept getting worse.. I would never go back here.
