Sakura Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Germantown

Met a friend for lunch today and although they were busy we were able to get our food and drinks in a timely manner. The server was attentive and customer service great!

We both ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Lunch and it comes with Clear Soup and Salad (ginger dressing). The Chicken Teriyaki was very good especially when combined with the steamed white rice. It came with a few veggies (broccoli, cabbage) and fruit (oranges, apples). There was a pickled cucumbers on the side and I really enjoyed it!

We both ordered sushi... my friend added a California Roll to her lunch but I ordered off the speciality rolls section. They do have A LOT of options to choose from and it can be overwhelming but the waitress was able to assist. I ended up ordering the Joe’s Roll (soft shell crab, crab sticks, crawfish, snow crab mix, avocado). It came with this amazing creamy sauce with a drizzle of hot oil. It was delicious and a large portion!

I used to be a frequent visitor to this place, attracted by its food and service. Unfortunately, I've noticed a decline in the quality lately. My go-to order for lunch was the Beef Teriyaki, priced at a reasonable $16 just last year. However, the current prices have escalated to $16.95 for lunch and a steep $22.95 for dinner. This significant markup seems unjustified and disappointing. One would naturally anticipate an improved experience with the increased price, but quite the opposite seems to be true. Adding to my disappointment, my order was served with Harumaki instead of the expected dumpling, and its quality was far from satisfactory. The most dissatisfying aspect was the quality of the beef. Hands down best Sushi I've ever had. It was yum yum delish! And the staff are super awesome. I mean some days better than others but thats just because they're human and I don't expect everyday to be the best but dang they do a great job. I like the Germantown location more than the east memphis one though. My favorite rolls are the DJ roll (fried and served warm which IMO is awesome) and the sexy lady roll and then the small rolls like the jackson roll. Also the Quasimoto is tasty too! The salads are always fresh and I love the peanut dressing- great stuff! All in all 10/10 I am a regular here (often as I can afford to come) and it's definitely my go to Sushi place and dinner if I'm feeling some Japanese food....
