Leslie, Rose and Joey. Great service friendly employees.

Local Lime is a popular restaurant in Germantown, known for its modern Mexican cuisine with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients. Here’s a brief review of what you can expect:

Ambiance: Local Lime has a vibrant and stylish interior with a relaxed atmosphere. The decor is modern yet cozy, making it a great spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The outdoor patio is particularly popular, offering a pleasant setting for enjoying a meal on a nice day.

Food: The menu at Local Lime is diverse, offering a range of Mexican-inspired dishes. Tacos are a highlight, with various options like pork carnitas, chicken tinga, and vegetarian choices. Their guacamole is also highly recommended, often served fresh and made to order. The restaurant uses fresh ingredients, which is evident in the flavors of the dishes.

Drinks: Local Lime is known for its craft cocktails, particularly their margaritas, which are a major draw. The margaritas are made with fresh lime juice, and they offer a variety of options, from the classic to more creative flavors. They also have a solid selection of tequila and mezcal, as well as local craft beers.

Service: Service is generally friendly and attentive. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and can offer good recommendations if you’re unsure of what to order.

Value: Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the ingredients and the care put into the preparation of the food and drinks. Portions are typically generous.

Overall: Local Lime in Germantown is a great choice for anyone looking to enjoy flavorful, fresh Mexican cuisine in a lively setting. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite, a drink, or a full meal, it’s a place that consistently delivers on taste and experience.

I recently checked out a popular spot in Memphis that's all over social media, and let's just say, it didn't live up to the hype. We ordered a salsa flights, four different tacos (fried fish, pork, steak, and chorizo), along with sides of rice, drunken beans, cheese dip, and chips. Here’s the rundown:

Drinks? No Thanks! Why no drinks, you might wonder? Because at $15 for a margarita, I felt like I was back in NYC or California. We skipped happy hour (Monday to Wednesday), and without the drink specials, Thursday's prices were steep.

The Food: Looks Over Flavor -Tacos: Each one was about 25% smaller than your average street taco. The fried fish was just a tiny, unseasoned piece covered in cabbage, not even beer-battered, paired with a sprinkle of mango salsa. The pork carnitas were just a few dry chunks, the steak was passable with a couple of seasoned strips, and the chorizo was a mushy, tasteless disappointment.

-Sides: The rice was crunchy and drowned in cilantro and lime. The drunken beans tasted like they were straight out of a can, and the cheese was runny with corn in it. At least the chips were salty?

display of food: everything comes on it's own plate. Lots of dishes on the table. This might make the food look nice but seriously not needed. Beans in a nice white cup. Rice in a nice white cup.

Salsa Flight: Bland across the board, and one bizarrely tasted like pizza sauce.

Service: Started Strong, Ended Forgotten Our server was all smiles initially, but once a larger group came in, we were pretty much forgotten. It seems if you aren't ordering drinks, you're not worth the time.

Final Bill: $55 with Tip Definitely not worth the money. I don’t recommend this place unless you're going for IG pics. You’re paying for the aesthetic, not the quality of the food. Sad because all the...

We stopped by Local Lime yesterday for our weekly happy hour outing. Our usual spot had a full bar, so we decided to give LL a try and I’m glad we did. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, and we were seated quickly in the bar area. Service was excellent from start to finish; our server was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything.

We kicked things off with cocktails and a couple of appetizers. The house margaritas were batched…not a dealbreaker, but they lacked the freshness you’d expect from a great margarita. That said, they were very reasonably priced for happy hour, so no complaints there.

To start, we ordered the salsa flight with chipotle, Caribbean mango, and tres chilies. The chipotle and Caribbean mango were both excellent, flavorful with a nice balance of heat and sweetness. The tres chilies, however, leaned too heavily on the char. It had an overwhelming burnt aftertaste that lingered a bit too long. The chips served with the flight were unfortunately underdone, they were soft and chewy instead of crisp and crunchy.

We also tried the queso flameado with chorizo. The server who brought it out was fantastic, super personable and engaging. The tableside flambe presentation, though, felt a bit forced, and it left a slightly chemical aftertaste. Flavor-wise, it started off okay, but the oil from the chorizo quickly became overwhelming. I love a good chorizo taco, but for a dish like this, I’d recommend using a slotted spoon to cut down on the grease assuming they aren’t already.

All in all, we had a nice time and appreciated the atmosphere and service, but I probably wouldn’t order these particular items again. There’s potential here, and I’d come back to try other options, but a few tweaks would...

My friend and I visited here on Taco Tuesday at about 7:45pm and it was packed! Our wait was about 35 minutes so we walked around the shopping area. Once seated the waiter came over & asked for our drink orders though we had no drink menu & after telling him that we were not sure he made sure to remind us of closing time which was soon. We eventually ordered our drinks & food. It did take him a while to come back & we had to get a drink menu from the bar but it was very crowded so I extend grace for that. I ordered the basic margarita & it was pretty tasty! I got the rim with Tajin which I never had before & it was easy better than the traditional salt! For dinner, I order the chicken tacos with rice & refried beans. Everything was seasoned to perfection! The beans had a slight chili taste but not in a bad way! My friend ordered the curry shrimp tacos but because of an allergy he couldn’t get the featured sauce which was a dairy based products. He said that he still tasted a curry flavor but it may would have had more of an authentic taste with the sauce. For sides he got the black beans and rice. Me not being a black bean fan, I can admit that these were actually pretty good with a similar chili taste to the refried beans. The aesthetic gives Tulum, Mexico vibes. It’s very clean & sleek in looks. The price for our two meals and my drink was fairly reasonable & I would definitely visit again!

Edit: Been back several times, including Wednesday March 27. Waited 30 minute to get a table. Then waited 1 hour and 15 minutes more to get our drinks - 2 margaritas and 1 glass of wine. Waitress kept saying the bar was "backed up." How does it take over an hour to pour a glass of wine and mix 2 drinks? Food was still great but the food came before the drinks. Saturday 4pm was told there would be an hour wait. Ended up being about 30 minutes. Plenty of stores to pop into while you wait, they text you when your table is ready. Decor is really cool and fun, especially for Germantown. Food was all fantastic. Queso tasted a lot like Pancho's, which is a win. Tacos were all great, quesadillas were fantastic. Chips were fresh and made there. Black beans were SO tasty. Service was not the best, but it had just opened a couple weeks before. Food and drink runners were totally lost, seemed to have no clue what items went to what tables. They came to our table several times trying to bring us food we didn't order. Our waitress was not good, disappeared for a very long time while we waited to pay, then had to wait again for her to show up with receipt to sign. The waiter behind us seemed to be a total star - glasses, cornrows dyed a little blonde. I hope he sticks around. We can't wait to go back and try more items!
