Panera Bread — Restaurant in Germantown

I hate to have to share this kind of review, but I feel compelled to say that Panera in Germantown messes up my carryout order every time! Tonight was the first time in over 6 mos we have used Panera although we live and I work very near by. Tonight I tried to order over the phone, but the employee could not put the order in the computer without having the manager come and delete the prior order to clear the screen. So I went in person and ordered at the register. I asked for a Pick Two - steak panini and a CUP of bacon Mac and Cheese for the first order and a BOWL of BBQ Chicken Mac and Cheese as the second order. She asked “small or large Mac and Cheese”? I said the BOWL should be large and the CUP should be small as part of the pick two. When I got home, both Mac and Cheese orders were SMALL CUPS - NO LARGE BOWL. My wife was counting on a full bowl of the BBQ Chicken Mac and Cheese as her meal. Disappointed and hungry. We will not be going back to Panera for a long time. If you go, CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORE. There are too many excellent restaurants in Germantown to use one that clearly falls below reasonable...

I've got mixed feelings about this place and how to review it...thus I settled on 3 stars for the time being. The food was absolutely on point. Couldn't have asked for any better. But the place itself....the interior of the restaurant left much to be desired in way of cleanliness. Literally couldn't find an open spot to sit that wasn't nasty from past guests. I don't think I saw anyone wipe a table off. They all were about filthy. And then I made the mistake of looking up above the seat we eventually chose. I posted a pic but to describe it briefly it appears to be visible mold or mildew growing from a vent directly above where we sat. I find that unacceptable and so if not for the food being just amazing, I'd leave a 1 star. As it stands, I hope the right people see this because when I come back next week, if it is still up there then I'll report it being that it's got to be some sort of health hazard for customers and employees alike. Please do something because I really love this restaurant but...

The website and pics are all lies. 1100+ calories? Not on the whole order for 4 people! French dip? Not hardly. Burnt crunchy bread with a light seasoning of “meat” and not French onion soup either. In total MAYBE 300 calories. I paid over $76 to leave hungry and annoyed but I filled up, on Disappointment. Want me to recommend a food? Ok. Go to McAllisters and feed your whole family, it’ll taste better, come a far cry closer to filling up the anorexic in your group than Panera and you’ll spend half as much and your bread won’t break your teeth! I’m disappointed in society that this place is in “business” at all. Everyone loves to spend $20 a person to have to go get something to eat somewhere that rips you off a little less! Look at that picture! That’s a light seasoning of “meat” on a “French dip”! I only ever give in because my kid believes she is...
