I've been eager to write a review of Devoted Kiss for about a week now, so please forgive the delay, Victoria. Our excellent waitress is finally getting the acknowledgment she deserves.
Victoria was our charming server, and I promised to share my experience of our delightful visit. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, greeted by friendly staff who effortlessly created a sense of hospitality.
As we stepped into the restaurant, I was taken aback by its elegant and inviting design. High ceilings, tasteful decor, and large windows flooded the space with natural light, creating a cozy yet upscale vibe. My wife and I chose to dine on the outdoor deck, where we were treated to a breathtaking view of the shimmering water and sailing boats drifting by—a perfect backdrop for our meal.
The menu was a treasure trove of delectable options, spanning from breakfast to lunch. My wife opted for the sumptuous Salmon Eggs Benedict, perfectly poached and draped in a rich hollandaise sauce. I couldn't resist the allure of the Corned Beef Hash, which promised a hearty combination of braised beef and fresh morning potatoes topped with two soft poached eggs. The detailed description I found online stated, "Corned Beef Hash—braised beef cut with fresh morning potatoes, topped with two eggs cooked your way and raised with whole-grain mustard cream sauce." However, I noticed that I was charged an additional $4 for the eggs when I glanced at the bill. In hindsight, I should have inquired about it while paying, but I didn't have the menu in front of me at the time. I'll certainly remember to clarify such details next time!
Victoria was an absolute delight as our waitress. Her friendly demeanor, combined with her helpful nature, made us feel well taken care of, and she handled everything with a professional charm that was truly refreshing.
The food itself was exceptional, and the portion sizes left us thoroughly satisfied. They truly nailed the dish! I had requested my corned beef hash to be crispy, and it arrived just as I had envisioned—golden brown and deliciously crunchy. Every bite was a joy, and the flavors harmonized beautifully. We will undoubtedly be returning to Devoted Kiss for more memorable meals by the water.
BTW-my wife loved her Salmon Eggs...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place after reading the reviews and driving by seeing people lined up out the door. Finally deciding to give it a shot, I placed an order for takeout as I wasn't planning on wasting half my day waiting for a table. At first glance the menu looks promising, boars head meats, 'fresh' ingredients, 'homemade' pastries...I ordered eggs Benedict with a side of home fries, and a cinnamon roll. The food took over an hour to be ready for pickup, and when I finally got the call to retrieve it, I was greeted by overworked staff and hostile management. The Eggs Benedict was cold, like it had been sitting on the counter for half my wait time while they made the potatoes–which were hot but soggy and covered in an absurd amount of grease. The cinnamon roll was stale and under-proofed, and the only 'flavor' I found in it was the overwhelming slop of frosting on top of it. If I wanted a hunk of bread with some sugar on it, I would have just gone to Albertsons, at least there's cinnamon in theirs. For a cafe that seems to brag about having a diverse menu with such high quality and flavorful ingredients, you'd think they'd know how to make the flavors and textures work together. 'Devoted kiss' is the place you go to by mistake thinking gig harbor signed off on opening a strip club. I've never been so disappointed by a restaurant to the point where I reconsider my eating disorder recovery. The food isn't worth the hour long wait, let...
Read moreWe’ve been here twice for breakfast. The staff and service are very nice, they efficiently and effectively deal with a very big crowd in a too small space on weekends, especially when it is freezing outside and thus everyone squeezes in the front door area to wait in the warmth. To their credit, they do not rush customers from their table. The service is quick but not rushed. Nice views of harbor. The food is tasty and some nice choices. On our first visit I loved the food, on our January 2025 visit I felt the Huevos Rancheros were a bit disappointing and just okay, to my taste and experiences they are too light, and while they are a bit filling, they are not the usual bold ranch hand style from Texas or the southwest, very skimpy on red sauce, not spicy, use lightly seasoned hamburger meat in lieu of beef chunks, a thin green sauce, and thin almost crispy tortillas. Theirs is kind of an urban elite style that many people may prefer vs. the real thing you’d eat in a small ranch town cafe. But this is personal preference, and in hindsight kind of dumb of me that I thought they’d be more authentic, indeed they tasted good enough and it looked like there were many better menu choices that they do authentically. So, I’ll keep coming here and make a different selection next...
