Hop Pharm — Restaurant in Gig Harbor

After living in Gig Harbor for nearly two years, I finally stopped to checkout Hop Pharm. It should not have taken me so long because it's a cool little spot. Chris was behind the bar serving up the beer and friendly chat. As it turns out, he manages the place. I can't remember the name of the beer Chris recommended, but it's one of the best IPA's I've had. There is a selection of twelve beers on tap along with a self-serve cooler with many more options to choose from.

I sat Indoors, the place was impeccably clean with seating at the bar, side bar, and a couple of tables. There is also an outdoor seating area that has been enclosed with a soft sided enclosure with a propane heater to cozy it up. There are a few bagged snacks available for purchase other than that no food is served.

Chris mentioned live music was on the calendar weekly. If you haven't visited Hop Pharm yet, I would recommend that you do....

I liked this place. To be fair, I like any place I can drink a cold beer. I previously had many 5 star experiences that are holding this score up. Bartender had 4 friends there, that took service away. All the friends left and one friend came back and I overheard a conversation saying they "hit a Toyota Highlander in the parking lot...Do you want me to ask around or did you want to ask" Bartender answered back "Nah, I got you bro. I love you, man". Friend left and the bartender didn't ask around or anything. I'm very irritated. It will be a long time before I come back, because the previous experience just was average and the same 4 friends were there. After attending my buddy's small birthday party in the "Patio Tent" back in January, I decided I should have a get together for my own birthday in April. It was so easy for me to organize AND easy for my friends to attend! No pressure to buy food but the nearby Tokyo Teriyaki and La Plancha Mexican food truck outside were perfect for anybody hungry.
