I usually don't like to post reviews without giving a place the opportunity to remedy the issue but I can't get a hold of this place for the life of me. I've been here 3 times now and each time I go, I get the same thing; the beyond burrito with a side of spicy chipotle aoli. The service is okay. The server seems very busy, but has gotten my order mixed up, incorrect, and this time she didn't even know if she gave my order to the wrong person and was confused when the kitchen staff called out my order in the middle of telling me she made a mistake giving my order to someone else. I got the wrong aoli sauce with my order and something tasted off. After some tasting of different components of the burrito, I deduced that it was the spinach that tasted like it was soaked in chemicals. Like I said, I've had the same thing each time and I've never had this issue. I tried to call like 5 times to inform them so they don't continue to serve this to more people, and give them the chance to remedy the situation with me, but no one answers. My stomach is currently upset after eating this and I didn't even eat more than a fourth of it. Not sure I'll be going back after this. Imagine the feeling of irony when I hear the answering machine say "we look forward to serving you the absolute Waurst" 5 times in a row... Lol.
Update: I have not heard from the owner since I posted this review. I have emailed him and he never replied. The reply to this review seems to be nothing more than a show to the public that he "made the effort" but he did not actually resolve the issue. It's easy to parade what's looks like good customer service to people but it's not real and over time that shows. If you're achieving the bare minimum with your customers, your business is going to reflect that. Good luck with your success. I will not...
Read moreNormally I am not a big fan of taking a restaurant up on an offer for free food because of a bad review. I prefer a review sort of standalone and if I'm going to re review a place I would prefer not to have the specter of nepotism hanging over my head. I recently broke that tradition with regards to Doghaus Gilbert. We had a bad experience and reviewed it appropriately and the owner Andi reached out with an offer to replace the meal.
Sticking to my usual premise of no freebies for reviews I left the email in my inbox. Unknown to the restaurant we ordered a couple more times from my wife's Uber eats accounts and were happy to find no further issues so I decided to break tradition and take them up on their offer. I used the freebie to get the exact same meal we originally had an issue with (and paid out of pocket for a corn dog for my son) and again were quite happy there were no issues.
Part of what made me break from my usual habits was that the owner seemed genuinely distressed about what happened. Not just that a bad review happened but about the impact on myself and my mother. There was real empathy. The other part was that it seemed like a genuine mistake instead of say, carelessness or poor training. So I was happy to give them the opportunity to make it right, and they made it right in the best way I could expect.
The entire transaction was near painless with the staff understanding the email and working with us to get the meal ordered, the food coming out in a timely manner, and it being excellent.
I cannot recommend this location or this owner enough. In a world of fast casual restaurants ran by corporations that don't seem to care about anything but numbers he was a warm and empathetic surprise that really made the best out of...
Read moreVery cool concept going on here. You need to try this place if you're into 1) beer, beer and more beer; 2) healthful (notice that I didn't say healthy :-)) iconic American pub grub (hot dogs and burgers). What a brilliant combination. The tap list will blow your mind. Seemingly endless selection of brews. The Dog Haus would have earned five stars were it not for the prices. Ouch. $8 for a dog. Without liquor, my wife and my order, before tip, came to $21 for a burger, an ice tea, one order of fries and a dog. Pam had the "holy aioli" burger and I had the chili dog. They feature King's Hawaiian slider buns, a smart, unique twist, and use these slider buns for both the burger (4 connected buns) and the dogs (3 connected buns). Buns are grilled and absolutely fantastic. Did I say "smart" yet? Our vegan friends had a plant-based brat and a plant-based burger. The vegan burger was kinda cool - looked more like a traditional thin-patty and not the typical puffed up plant based burger. Our friends said that both the brat and the vegan burger tasted great. So, here's the question - is the Dog Haus a clever cover for a beer joint that happens to serve up delicious dogs & burgers? Or is the Dog Haus a clever cover for a hot dog & burger place that really specializes in cold brews? Answer: IT'S BOTH! You can't lose here. Some great happy hour special pricing but we were here too early for that because we were headed to a movie right after. Anyway, I'll be taking friends here and when I have a designated driver, will be looking forward to sampling a few of...
