MISFIRE ON THE HIRE (whomp whomp)...I was really looking forward to eating here, since I've only been to the Sedona location a couple times, but Anastasia R. was just seriously blah and dampened my expectations and hopes of a positive experience. Upon walking in, l smiled at all the cats decorating the eatery. It is slightly bigger than the one in Sedona so that was nice. However, after I scanned the menu, I was ready to order and Anastasia appeared to be disconnected, discontent, disengaged, sleepy and bored. She didn't even pipe up with a "Hi! Welcome to Sono! What can I get started for you today?" NOT even a smile. As someone who has worked in the world of customer service, this was unacceptable to me. So, that was disappointment number one with a side of bummer. I ordered a Pop and Bo and Unagi Don. My drink was the Lychee Mint. She punched in my food and everything came out to $40.07. She gave me my receipt with no words and then I sat down to wait for my food (no words from her, no thank you is disappointment number two). Despite Anastasia's lack of enthusiasm, the food was great. Decent portions, however, disappointment number three came with a bummer on the boba. Probably just got a heaping tablespoon and that was that. I usually go to Rare Tea and they are very generous on their boba portion- at least a quarter of a cup! The lychee mint drink itself was surprisingly interesting and well-balanced so I'll be ordering that again as my go-to, despite the lack of boba. The chicken was seasoned and fried well and the presentation of the unagi dish was great, so two thumbs up on the food. Don't know if the Asian guy in the pink shirt was the manager, but he seemed friendly and was working hard. I appreciated that very much and wondered why he was wiping tables (if he was the manager). Overall, kids these days should be better at serving people, especially if they so choose to work at a place where a greeting is pretty much, at the very least, expected. Food was great but managment could re-think their hires with kids who aren't really present and happy with their job. First impressions are always still appreciated and will bring customers back in. Thanks...
Read moreYUM!! The fried calamari stole the show with its tasty complex flavors with dipping sauce & light spiciness! The teriyaki chicken don was impressive! Chicken was tender and the light sauce not overwhelming nor tasting processed. It was attractively plated with a half egg and both broccoli and marinated cucumbers to round out the healthy meal. We ordered boba drinks that were just okay, probably because they were odd combination drinks - the sea salt mango milk tea and the matcha peach milk tea. Boba pearls were on the very soft side. Overall, fun food & I will definitely return and try more...
Read moreDefinitely adding this place to my favorites ! My girlfriend and I stumbled across this place and my girlfriend really likes boba so we decided to try it out. We both really enjoyed the Guava Lava and the Mango Snow White . We also got the Salt & Pepper popcorn chicken along with the Sono House Noodle and we enjoyed them very much. The Manager, Trinity, was very helpful and friendly. We also met the owner, Jerry, very nice as well. He informed us this is his 3rd location! We’re very happy to have found this place !...
