Fat Willy's Williams Field Rd & Gilbert Rd — Restaurant in Gilbert

Well…not good.

Went a couple weeks ago for a Thursday night football game and the MLB playoffs. Wasn’t terribly busy with about half the tables full at the time. The atmosphere was good with plenty of TVs around to watch the game of your choice. Was seated quickly and the server came over not to long after. Took our drink orders and was off. This is where the troubles began. Ordered a beer and a cocktail and waited about 15 mins for them to arrive at the table.

While we were waiting on the drinks, we ordered some food for the kids since they were hungry, per usual. Got the kids cheeseburger and kids pasta. After we received our drinks, we ordered some food for ourselves as well; jalapeno poppers and a firecracker burger, medium rare. The menu looked good overall with lots of options. After about 30 minutes from the time we ordered the kids food, we still hadn’t received it. Asked the server when she came over to check on us when we would be getting the food. She let us know it would be a few more minutes. About 15 minutes later, we finally got the kids food. Again, only a burger and pasta but the quality was low. The burger seemed overcooked and the pasta didn’t seem cooked through. But whatever, the kids were starving and ate what they could.

About 15 minutes after that, we finally got our food. Jalapeno poppers were decent but similar to something you could grab at one of the warehouse stores. The Firecracker burger looked great and had some spicy queso/sauce on it which I really liked. Unfortunately, this burger was overcooked as well and looked exactly like the same patty that was used for the kid’s burger. Not sure if these were just frozen pre-made patties but sure seemed like it. After waiting so long for our food as well, I wasn’t going to send it back and wait another 30-45 minutes so made due with what was in front of me.

While waiting for our food, we noticed the servers hovering around the kitchen window so that’s where the bottleneck seemed to be. The server did what she could, and apologized for the food taking so long, but a slow kitchen doesn’t help. This was surprising as well since the place wasn’t super busy. After looking at the menu, I was really hopeful it would be a place we could come back to so I could try some more of the burgers. Overall, disappointed with our experience and with all the other options around, not sure we will...

One star is just to get attention. Service and cold beer is five stars! Brittany, Jelena and Kira are awesome! Never wait for a drink and super friendly , every single trip. We love hanging out at fats. Now.... the kitchen. Charles is great. He really trys hard. The menu is stuck on almost straight bar food. You can order a burger pink and one out of twenty it's actually pink. That's killing me. Now let's talk about breakfast. We love their breakfast menu. You're never going to have a successful breakfast crowd if you only run it for an hour or two one day a weekend. I can't tell you how many times we've came in and missed breakfast by 5 minutes. I know you guys are not McDonald's. You're much better. There's really no reason to cut off breakfast at an exact time. Yes I know there's prep. Once you're up and running you can switch and still keep breakfast going for a little while. It really should run from opening till 2:00. It's the weekend, brunch means breakfast. If you're not going to open till 10:00 or 11:00 you can only serve breakfast for an hour or two. What is the big deal about serving breakfast until at least 2:00? Today is at least the 10th time we've came in for breakfast and been denied. Now it's not even served on saturday. We have been coming here for five years. We will keep coming for cocktails but may have to go other...

If you're trivia buff, DO NOT go here. My group are advid players. We enjoy a good night out of fun. Have been to trivia there several times. The hostess who is supposed to walk the room and check on players does not!! Our group watched another group blatantly cheat! Using their phones for the answers to the questions. The hostess sat at the bar on her phone!! We told the group to put their phones away. One of their players who was drunk, came over to our table to just be a jerk. We explained the rules. He didn't care. Had to get the manager to ask the hostess to come over to tell her she needs to be watching. She made excuses for herself and the cheaters. Later, the group was mocking us because we knew they were cheating. One of the female players continued to mock us so she got called a dumba**. She preceded to come throw her drink at us and her group came over and started a full on brawl. The ppl who work there broke it up, but let the drunks stay till 11pm after we left. A worker there informed us of that. A person in our group was physically attacked. He has bruised arms, chest and head. So, be careful! Trivia night is a mess and they don't care how things go down. One poor server for the entire place. It was packed. She and the manager did great serving, but the fact the others weren't thrown out...
