First time coming here. Got a California Surfin’ burrito ($13.95) 2 quesabirria tacos ($6.50 ea), 1 birria taco ($5.99). Thought the prices were quite high but maybe worth it. Quesabirria tacos were good. I’d rate 4/5. Dipped, fried and quite large. Good favor with the consumé. Birria Taco was not dipped or fried, which was interesting. Made it quite dry even with the consume. 2/5. California Surfin’ Burrito was worst of these. Tortilla was raw. (Might be able to see from photo) Physically took work to chew. Tried to empty it out and eat with fork but Shrimp had a ‘sour fish smell’ which tells me it likely has been sitting out/fridge for quite awhile. Chipotle/house sauce doesn’t mix well. Didn’t even half cause didn’t want to get sick. 1/5. Service was good, friendly staff. Red/green sauces don’t taste like a Mexican restaurant. Might be back for the Quesabirria tacos just cause I live around the corner. Might make a longer drive to get some a little better. Most likely won’t be buying anything else from here. Especially when Filiberto’s is at the next stop light.

I feel like I need to share this place with the world because I want it to stay in business 4 EVER! So good. BEST queso BIRRIA tacos I've ever had! The consommé had so much flavor that even after our tacos were gone, we continued to finish off the broth like it was an alcoholic beverage. The salsa bar is small, but everything we tried was great. Especially the chili with oil! Get ready for your tastebuds to be on fire, but definitely worth the burn. We also ordered the carne asada street tacos and the Al pastor. Both were amazing, but dare I say that the Al pastor was better than the carne asada??! So much flavor! I wanted to order more birria tacos for leftovers, but since we have breakfast plans tomorrow, I didn't want them to get soggy til the next days' dinner. My husband assured me that this place would still be here when I want to come back in a few days. On another note, the two girls up front were friendly and constantly cleaning. You could eat off the floor here. So, If you're craving Mexican food, this is the place to be!

The last 3 times I’ve gotten the fish burritos they’ve put a pink chipotle sauce on it instead of the white sauce. Today I specifically asked if they’re making them differently now and I was told no we only have one kind, maybe they put chipotle sauce in on accident. (2 different times?) Then they did it again! Also, all of a sudden they’re breading the fish differently and it’s thick breading like it’s wrapped in a pancake. We’ve been getting these fish burritos since Fountain Hills days and we’ve had them the right way at this location before. Now the last 3 times over a 2 month span they’re different and gross. The tortilla wasn’t grilled nearly enough either so it was damp and doughy.

Senor Taco (Express) blew my mind again. We stopped in for lunch at the location on Val Vista and Williams Field for lunch while we were out running some errands over the weekend. I decided to try the Baja fish taco. I have had it before at other locations but it can vary from place to place. This was the absolute best fried fish taco I've had anywhere (in the US) at any time in my life (60+ yrs). The fish was crispy and flavorful. The toppings were plentiful and the right proportions including the sauce all stuffed into a flour taco shell. It was immense and very satisfying. A big shout out to Mari, who prepared the taco and evidently knows what she's doing! I had also ordered a carne asada street taco and one of my favorite dishes from there, the shrimp caesar avocado salad. The street taco was tasty as always. After the two tacos I had no room left for the salad and we brought it home. A day later I took the salad, put it into a bowl, along with all the toppings that came with it. There was so much salad it nearly filled a 1 gallon tupperware bowl - it was like it doubled in size from the container it came in. This is in my opinion the best shrimp caesar avocado salad in all of Phoenix. Prior to covid, the cost was $11+. Post covid it only went up $12+. Price to value/quality could not be beat before covid and with everyone raising their prices from 20% to 30% afterwards, it's an even better value now. I could go on and on about all their shrimp dishes but I'll save that for a separate post shortly for the location on Arizona and Ocotillo. Here's to good quality eating and not costing an arm...
