Starbucks Coffee Company — Restaurant in Gilbert

Last week I decided to give this location another try after slow, unfriendly, and dismal service the first time. Well, they didn’t disappoint with, yet again, the slow, and EXTREMELY unfriendly service. Specifically, the one female barista with dark hair and tattoos all over her arms (I couldn’t see her name on her apron). I have been to a million Starbucks in the Phoenix area and this has to be the worst. Completely made to feel as though my business wasn’t welcome. Upon a suggestion of another Starbuck’s barista (at the location I normally frequent), I bring my own Starbucks mug with almond mild since I have dairy allergies and they don’t carry almond milk. Most of the time I get a 10 cent break for bringing in my own cup. All I ask is for two shots of espresso and 3 pumps sugar free vanilla syrup. Just to mention, I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES UNTIL THIS LOCATION! The barista looked at my mug, pointed at it and loudly in her most disgusted voice, yelled at the cashier, “WHAT IS THIS?!?” She looked at it as though she may melt by the mere fact she had to put espresso and syrup in my mug. After the cashier repeated what she wrote down for the barista, the barista yelled out again. I finally answer her explaining it’s almond milk. She emphatically shook her head and stated that what I am doing is against health code. How is it that this is the only location I have ever been to that has said this to me? Even if it’s a new rule/regulation, there are far better ways of approaching the situation. Here I’m trying to save them money by not wasting product, which would require them to put espresso and 4 pumps of syrup in a separate cup. If it truly against health regulations, she could have offered to put it in a cup for me to then pour into my own mug! I will never again be treated this way BEFORE I drink my coffee, because I will avoid this location at all cost! My favorite is the team at the Crossroads Towne...

This location has no drive thru which is normally why I avoid it.

I needed some coffee while running errands today and stopped in. We waited a while to order bc a large group of kids had ordered before us. The guy who finally took the order was friendly enough.

I actually wanted espresso but purposefully ordered drip to avoid the line. I travel for a living so I go to a lot of places, and I've never been to a Starbucks location that didn't pour drip and hand it to you right away when you order. This one did not do that. I still had to wait in line to get my drink behind all the foo foo lattes and such. So much for my idea of ordering something that would get us out quickly.

I ordered dark roast and today it was my favorite blend (Verona). Unfortunately, I did not take a sip until I was on the road. It was the most bitter, burnt tasting coffee I've maybe ever had in my life. Not the Verona I'm used to. I honestly would rather have had a generic kcup from home than this nasty coffee. I poured it out and made a kcup at home.

I doubt I'll be back to this location any time soon. It felt like a huge waste of money...

This location is very busy, yet clearly lacks a sufficient amount of staff members to accommodate clients. In addition, one of the employees, Mandy, (perhaps manager) is extremely rude. She displays an anti-customer experience with arrogance and anger, which leads me to believe that this location must have challenges with staff employment. I say this, as I have been a Starbucks client for many years and I am not accustomed to Starbucks staff members offering such a low level of service, accompanied by a very negative experience from an employee such as Mandy. Each time I have attempted to support this location, it is the very same experience. It is unfortunate that it is close to my home. I will never return to this location, as I’d rather drive to the Starbucks location on Gilbert Rd. and Ocotillo to be treated with kindness and high standards by employees,...
