We have always enjoyed coming to Cafe Zupas. Never this location but others in 2 other states. We came hoping for the best as we've seen before but the line took forever to get through. There weren't too many people ahead of us so I thought it would be quick. I was wrong. I worked at Subway years ago alone with busses coming in and could get through the line much quicker than we went through and they had at least 6 people we saw behind the counter. To make matters worse, they all seemed legitimately like NPCs without any kind of desire to be there at the store doing their job. Just robotic in motion. All we want is to be treated well when we're taking our family out. We finally got our food paid for and we looked at my little daughter's fruit cup and look at the photo? Is that fresh? Do you see the piece of uncooked bacon in it? How does that happen? It's totally contaminated and inedible, and I especially wouldn't let my daughter touch it. The lady sitting on a step ladder behind the register saw it when I asked for a new one and said that it was gross and reassured me that they'd bring out a new one. Nope, nothing. We spent $60 for our family of 4 and nobody could bring us our fruit cup? Something is seriously wrong here and frankly having worked in and owned restaurants for 8 years I'm disgusted to have seen such events transpire tonight at a restaurant we usually enjoy. I usually don't work for free giving out consultations, but I'm giving you a pretty decent amount of data here because I hope you improve for your benefit. I could tell that the "leadership" wasn't doing a good job and that the morale was well below mediocrity. Change your "leadership" or put them through rigorous team-building training and you'll see a night and day change.

We went for my twin granddaughters birthday lunch. My daughter both had the CHIPOTLE GLAZED PORK” with the soup; Red & Green Enchilada Sauce, as I walked up I just said I will have the same as my daughter. She proceeded to do the same and made the twins grilled cheese with chipotle soup as well. We get to our table and my daughter asked if they asked if “I wanted everything on my soup” No not at all. I told my daughter I mentioned to the person at the register- I will have the exact same thing my daughter ordered. (That simple) Then I noticed my salad didn’t have any avocado. So my daughter picked up my whole tray and brought to the cashiers attention he mentioned everything is NOT included. It’s 50c for EACH ITEM! 50c for CHEESE - 50c for SOUR CREAM & 50c for chips! First - by saying “the exact same thing” That means everything Then you would think - they would be POLITE & say “sorry about that, it will be complementary this time” but NO! So I pay for the extra things.. I then ask do you do anything for birthdays!? He just bluntly said NO. Soooo with that - we sit down to eat we have a tablespoon of pork in the middle of our salad that we start pulling apart to enjoy and throughout It literally had a BIG piece of fat .. most of the bottom was all fat. Unreal I’m sorry this was not what we had in the past when we’ve gone here before. They are highly over priced and very picky and don’t even bother to give you good food. You can see on the main menu where you order, it shows the soup with everything on it, it should state “soup ONLY” nothing else included in price.

Don’t waste your money, time, or sanity! I have been a long time customer of Zupas but I’m fed up. Went into this location today and I wanted a salad. They used to have this breaded chicken avocado salad but they don’t anymore. You can’t even sub out or pay extra for breaded chicken. This is the ONLY restaurant I’ve ever heard of where you literally cannot order YOUR food that YOU pay for how YOU want. The Team Lead Charles wasn’t friendly about it at all. Literally made me so mad. I don’t like the grilled chicken, I personally think it looks horrible and it taste bad too. Looks like it came from some factory overseas. It’s small pieces that they hardly give you any of. Anyway, I ordered their new Caesar salad and asked if I could get only a half portion of the chicken because I didn’t like it. I wish I had a different option for the type of chicken but considering I would’ve been charged eight dollars and something for the sandwich just to get the breaded chicken I had to go with the option I didn’t like. I’m not Paying $8 to get breaded chicken on my salad that’s already $10. Then I hardly get but maybe two slices of rotten avocado. I’m like really?!?! I asked for more avocado given the fact that I took less chicken on my salad and they were already griping about that. Almost almost all the pieces of my avocado were starting to rot. If you come here or you’re gonna pay for food that you can’t get how you want, you’ll get treated bad, if you ask what is deserved or for the appropriate portion, they will scour at you.

I called them to place a To-Go order. I confirmed which location it is and the lady at the other end confirmed that it was the 202 and Gilbert Rd location. She asked for my number and I gave it. She said you don't seem to have a profile with us( which I thought was rewards account), so she asked me firstname, lastname, and then phone number. She then took my order and asked for credit card info. I gave that to her and she said you can come and pick it up. When I drove there the folks at the counter mentioned that there is no order by that name. They said that you must have called some other location. I told them that I had confirmed the location before placing the order. They asked me to talk to the store manager (Matthew if I am not wrong). The manager asked me more details and I showed him the call from my Recents, it said Cafe Zupas, so he asked me to show the number and call duration, I showed that to him. He was patient and helpful but he said he has no idea why that happened, also he added that they have a policy of not asking for credit card info on the phone. He also asked me to show the credit card transaction and yes the transaction did not show up on my card. He said that he would take the order again and quickly make it. I went ahead and gave the order all over again ( he did not charge for the soda). But then I mentioned how come he does not know who the person was who did this because it is fraud to get someone's credit card info if their policy says not to get it. I called the number again when I was there and a lady picked up and I said which location and she said 202 and Gilbert and I said I cannot see you I am at this location and she said because I am at the back. So I asked the manager where this back office is and how can he not know who is in the back with responsibility to take the call and he pointed me to two ladies and said these two ladies are in charge of that. They were busy in their work and I was not sure how I can confront them without being very sure or even if I should ask them about that. I immediately called the credit card bank to cancel the card and issue me a new one with new numbers. I think first of all the Cafe Zupas phone line should say that please do not give your credit card info so customers calling them know the policy (some restaurants like Panera Bread take credit card info while taking phone orders). Also the manager should have been more proactive and ask the ladies in charge in the back himself in front of me instead of putting me on the spot by just pointing towards them. I plan to call Cafe Zupas corporate to see if they can look into this and fire the employee committing fradulent activities and also maybe change their phone ordering message to include credit card related policy. Also I asked the manager if calls are recorded so they can listen in to see if employees are getting credit card info by fraud but he said calls are...

2023-We’ve had more mistakes at this location with substitutions and omitting items on salads that shouldn’t have been forgotten. Some of the dressings have changed. They have reduced the salad sizes, less greens too.

Soups- They let you sample which I love, because who wants to commit to a bad soup. Mushroom Bisque is very rich, creamy, and filled with fresh mushrooms. It’s got to be made with real cream. The best! Clam Chowder- this is more of a soup vs a chowder because it is so thin and very light on the clams and veggies. It’s still good but needs to be more thick with more ingredients.

I’ve gotten the; Thai Steak Salad, Strawberry Harvest Salad, Mangoberry Salad, other salads which are no longer on the menu😢. Bring back Citrus Berry Chicken please! All salads are delicious and they let you sub easily. But 2 veggies or fruit subs for a tiny bit more meat. I will say lettuce has always been fresh, but toppings are too light.

Sandwiches: Turkey Pesto is very cheesy & creamy. I get mine without cheese and the sauce is cheesy by itself. Love the pesto and ppl I share with all seem to enjoy it.

Turkey Bacon Avocado, was a little dry and I didn’t taste any honey mustard. The first time I ordered it without cheese on herb bread and they messed up 3x and I gave up. I think service is better, but check your sandwiches.

Italian Club is a cold sandwich- very tasty and my husbands favorite! Thick meat portion and tastes like italian flavored herb mayo on it. I don’t like deli pork but this sandwich makes me forget why. Ask for extra herb sauce, at times has been dry.

One time they ran out of bread and strawberries, which are complementary -one of each only. That was a sad day. Line is long during peak periods so if you only have a short lunch break go at...
